For the odd person who has a go on the outsider in a two horse race, many have put up large amounts of money on the favorite to win a small amount, you guys are mad if you think the bookie lose money, it's like saying that the lottery guys lose money when some one wins a few million, when millions have paid for tickets, many more then one.

The bookie makes money because their are enough mugs out there to back the favourite. The bookie hates people like us lot, who know better than them.

And there's a thread on here 'betting thread' where people who know all about boxing and work out odds very well still get caught out week in and week out. My money (£20 is on Khan).

Calzaghe 3/1 to beat Lacy
Garcia 4/1 to beat Khan
Hopkins 11/4 to beat Pavlik
Haye evens to beat Maccarinelli!!!!

Are just a few off the top of my head
Holyfield 25-1 to beat Tyson initially, down to 6-1 by the week of the fight!
Buster Douglas 42-1.

I was still in my Dad's bollocks at the time, innocently waiting for the chance to go for a swim.

Exactly. The 4 I listed earlier were just a few I remember v well. If anyone has backed Khan to lose against any half decent opponent he's been in against I would guess they would be up a good bit. Prescott was at least 10s, peterson and garcia were 4s. The bookies dont care about his opponents

To be fair, there are a lot of people who do really well in there and make great calls when fights are priced wrong.
