Close fight, Canelo did not looked good but he won that. I would love to see rematch now with Lara getting demolished. Cried too much about robbery where he literally run the whole fight

I remember people claiming Cotto vs Canelo was questionable. That one is even more mystifying.
I dont remember him landing eight or nine rounds worth of those damaging body shots.
I don't remember Lara winning enough rounds to make it a close fight. He was moving away and throwing pitty pat (stay away from me) shots. That's why he lost.

I think Canelo beat Cotto. It was one of those "close but clear" ones.

I think the scorecards were just too wide though.
I had 119-109 against Cotto. Wasn't close AT ALL. It was one of those fights where every round was competitive, and still mainly 1 guy won almost all of them.

There would be no reason to rematch Lara. Canelo has 5 or 6 bigger fish to fry, and nobody would really expect anything except an easier win for Canelo.

I suppose he could do it as a Stay busy fight, but even that seems fairly pointless.

Lara isn't a major opponent at this point.

I know, pointless fight, but pople love to throw "robbery" word in every close fight, especially in Alvarez fights :D

The only times he's ever been the beneficiary of robbery cards is the 2 GGG fights, and the Mayweather draw scorecard. The Mayweather draw card was the worst one in his favor of his career. He lost every round of that fight.

Only 33% of 89 media scorecards believed that Canelo deserved to lose the Lara fight.

Does anyone think I’m lying and can’t quote all 89 of them? :OhYes:

Also, if you aggregate all three official judge’s round-by-round scorecards for the Canelo-Lara bout, they concur with Steve Farhood’s (Showtime) scores for ten of the twelve rounds.

So anybody feels that Lara was somehow “robbed” in the Canelo fight are complete utter morons.

And if the forum moderators are emotionally distraught about the facts I’ve listed, then they’re welcome to ban me again.

For some reason, claiming Roy Jones Jr. was a PED cheat, when he regularly wasn’t tested and also tested positive five or six times over the acceptable limit for anabolic steroids, coupled with refusing to submit a B-sample to clear his name, resulted in me receiving a two-week ban.

So let’s see if the facts I’ve cited result in another juvenile ban!

I really hope it does! :OhYes:

Facts make people cry! And I want to see people cry or retaliate like babies, simply because the facts don’t adhere to their preferred narrative! :yay:

Ban me! Ban me! Ban me!

I've provided my opinion about the Canelo-Lara bout numerous times and even provided a detailed round-by-round analysis of the fight itself.

But people usually dislike my thoughts, so I thought I'd quote facts instead, even though they clearly contradict the opinions harboured by members of the anti-Canelo brigade.

Quick summary.. You had Canelo winning?

TBH, I don't see why anyone would dislike your thoughts, it's quite mixed reactions for the fight. It's either one or the other ain't it?

Don't be afraid.

This is what I posted to the forum last year:
Enlightened-One wrote: 27 Mar 2020, 06:05For sure, his fight against the Cuban was close, but the Mexican deserved the victory. It was a close fight though, but certainly no robbery.

Lara was employing effective defence during the first five rounds, such as making Canelo miss and then making him pay. However, from round six onwards, he was being too defensive and simply didn’t let his hands go often enough. Erislandy was responsible for his own downfall, because he had the capability to win, but he forfeited too many rounds due to his own negative approach.

Another way to look at those 89 cards is that 61% of them did not declare Canelo the winner.

Also that they statistically converge around a 114-114 draw.

Another way to look at those 89 cards is that more members of the media thought Canelo deserved his victory over Lara than the other way around.

There was no robbery.

So anybody feels that Lara was somehow “robbed” in the Canelo fight are complete utter morons.
What a ridiculous emotional outburst. You haven't stated any facts. You're saying that if the majority of the media says something is true, it's true. And if anyone disagrees with this they're 'utter morons'. This is a dangerous, dangerous point of view. You'd be a popular guy in Nazi Germany, China, North Korea, and certain western countries as well where the media says whatever $$ tells it to say.

We all score fights differently. It's okay to disagree about the outcome of a fight, it doesn't make someone an 'utter moron' if they don't have the same score as you. THEN IT COMES OUT YOU HAVEN'T EVEN WATCHED THE FIGHT!! You're calling people who disagree with the scoring decision 'utter morons' because they have a different score then the majority of the media, when you DON'T KNOW IF YOUR SCORE WOULD BE THE SAME AS THE MAJORITY CONSENSUS!! (I rarely use all caps, it means I'm yelling but that's what I'm doing here. And smacking this 'utter moron' upside the head!) You're completely unqualified to talk about this fight! You don't belong in this thread! Watch the fight then tell us who you agree or disagree with. Otherwise your opinion or facts or whatever you call them don't belong here.
