True, MW and I am disappointed in myself for even thinking the suggestion. However, I don't think I've ever seen a fighter with this bad a chin/balance issues. Never been right after Klitchsko (maybe even after Tyson) but now he just gets hurt, goes down so easily.

I'm not saying he is in the same league in toughness, but Julius Francis was once considered a very tough fighter who would give it his all. I can remember when he was at the end of his career people were saying he'll know how to defend himself and if the fighter can penetrate through, he'll go down.

For different reasons, I kind of have the same views on Danny. I cannot see him taking such a beating that he'll suffer a brain bleed etc. Yes, good chance the damage has already been done and he'll have serious and visible neurological issues in a few years but I don't think he'll ever do a "Greg Page". He goes down way too easily, whether its a "dive" or not.

I think the damage was done by Tyson - the next fight, when he fought Vitali - he went over every time a shot landed flush - the first couple weren't even big shots, and his balance was just shot.

Actually take that back, just re-watched the fight, Jesus Vitali hit Danny with a hell of a lot of shots in there - It reminded me just how good Vitali was in his prime, and watching that back, surprisingly fast hands, and very accurate.

I always preferred Vitali - he was less afraid to take risks, and threw way more shots, was tough as hell, and had one hell of a mean streak.

I'd have fancied him to give any heavyweight in history a real tough night - his resume may not look as good as Wlad's, but I'd say he was definitely the better fighter of the two.

When it is clearly affecting Danny's health, I'd say there's plenty of people that can tell him to stop fighting, the fact he is earning money is irrelevant if his brain's too mashed for him to spend it. He's had 70 fights, boxed all over the world and taken a lot of punishment, right now the minute he's hit with a half decent shot his legs go, that's a pretty clear sign he shouldn't be fighting, if he carries on he will get brain damage, if he doesn't already have it, and he will end up dying far younger than he needs to.

If he was fighting bums... I'd say let him go, and keep boxing. It won't hurt him.

The ONLY time I felt real sad as a fan when someone attempted to fight again was Buchanan. Because of his bad back and alcoholism, was few years ago he said he was gonna return to the unlicensed scene. Thank Jesus a collection was made, so he didnt have to. But a man nearly 70... that was sad.

He was still very effective - Williams, for all his shortcomings, wasn't some journeyman, but Vitali absolutely annihilated him.

I think Vitali is rather underrated, I still say he's the better of the two brothers, or at least was. He gave Lewis a torrid time before losing.
