Hammer poses no problem. As mentioned above, short, been stopped before and has no power ( Airich went the full 10 rounds with him! )

Still, now he is in line for a title shot they will be even more cautious than usual.
Hammer is a top 20 ranked heavyweight.

He is a better stay busy opponent than the vast majority of top heavyweights take.

I'd have preferred Ustinov or Thompson, but this guy is okay and will be in Fury's top 5 wins.

Pretty dissapointed really, Fury better be fighting Wlad next up,Hammer's a decent warm up i suppose but his record is nothing to write home about, should be an easy nights work for Tyson, hardly ideal prep for Klitschko but i suppose theres no point taking too much of a risk

I think you will find that Fury has been an underdog on various occasions in his career and has been tested plenty of times chin, heart , stamina and he has always delivered. what ever shape he's in! This my friend shows what he is really made of :TU:

Hammer is an easy nights work for Fury. His team like him fighting shorter guys. It's a very low risk option.

Personally, I'd like to have seen him fight someone who's a similar height to Wlad. Just to see how Fury faired.

Fury is talking sh1te by saying that Wlad doesn't want to fight him. That is complete nonsense. Fury is once again dreaming.

Anyone who knows me, knows I've always said that Tyson will be a world champion, but it won't be a title that Wlad holds. Klitschko will have to fall apart over night to lose to Fury. He's maybe got one chance in fifty.

Its an expected opponent.

Positives: young, heavy, good basics, decent experience, coming off a winning streak.
Negatives: short and no power, no explosiveness.

Fury will need to take him seriously. If he does, he should not have much problems.

Wlad's ducking Browne?

Hardly anyone rates Browne do they? I wouldn't be surprised if Hughie Fury beats Browne for the Commonwealth next year.

Hammer a decent record but it flatters him a bit in my opinion, as I think he's fairly mediocre for someone frequently considered a top 20 HW. I also don't think he has any attributes that will trouble Fury or make the bout interesting given that he's relatively small HW and lacks power (compare his decision over the Brazilian he just fought with Joesph Parker's four round destruction of the same opponent).

That said, Fury could've just sat on his title shot so I don't have problems with him fighting Hammer.

Amazes me that people were expecting someone really good. No problems with this opponent at all, Fury's problem can quite often be his weight, just having a fight scheduled will hopefully mean he works back down to the 245 that is the most ideal weight he has got in the ring at.

Be amazed if Fury has been a betting outsider in any of his fights. Would have always been the betting favourite. Yet to face a heavyweight with any real power. I hope that's just a coincidence!

Who is considered good in this divison?

There's hardly anyone that good out there, so it makes it easy for the silly ones to mock Fury's opposition.

There is only about a handful of opponents they wouldn't take the mick out of.

Against Chisora in their first fight, he was a slight betting underdog. I think he's been favourite in every other fight, including the rematch with McDermott.
