Then Stiverne may have massive hands for his height given that his fist measurement is 14 to Wilder's 13. Maybe Deontay has exceptionally long fingers.Kingfield wrote:I know people comment on Wilder's legs being thin, but i met the guy a couple of years ago. I'm 6ft 5" and 17.5st, i would say my hands are relative to my size, but next to Wilders mine looked like kids hands.
It's no surprise that when he hits, people drop. His speed and power is immense. He was a thoroughly nice bloke too.

I think Stiverne will do it, Wilder hasn't been hit yet - he's an american David Price. Men Wilders size go down in sections, it'll be spectacular, might put a tenner on it.

Wilder does have the power to win, but Stiverne has taken some hard shots off Arreola and came through to win. It could be that Stiverne is caught and doesn't recover, If its not over in 2 rounds then Stiverne will win. But anything could happen in those first 2 rounds.

Re: Bermane Stiverne v Deontay Wilder 17th Jan Vegas
The whole stage seems set up for Wilder to reveal his brilliance, but the inescapable fact is that he has consistently looked woeful in his fights preceding the big knockout. When in boxing history has a heavyweight ever been as protected as Deontay Wilder (his opposition genuinely makes Brian Nielsen's look stiff) and then turned out to of world championship calibre? When? Who?
I know we are in a severely diminished division, I know Stiverne is no great shakes (other than his belly), but he is competent, has been challenged several times, and hits hard. Wilder's unfinished technique and glass chin will cause his downfall - but his team will make a lot of money in the process.
Nary a tremor of war in my bowels for this one I'm afraid!

Someone posted a link on CS to an interview with Wlad K confirming Wilder can't take a shot. I really think he'll go the same way as Seth Mitchell.

See my earlier posts on this mate - Ladbrokes were doing Stiverne in the 1st at 25-1 & Stiverne in the 2nd at 20-1. Really think the bookies are seeing this one wrong.palooka wrote:I think Stiverne will do it, Wilder hasn't been hit yet - he's an american David Price. I remember David Haye was something stupid like 33-1 to knock out Bonin on his Heavyweight debut in the first round.

As for Santa Cruz's opponent -

Thanks for pointing that out; well that pretty much confirms what a lot of people have been thinking: the guy can't take a punch.
Its unusual for a champion to say something like this about a possible future challenge, because you want to keep information like that quiet, so that when you fight, The pay day might be bigger, and you'll look more impressive when you knock him out.....
Plus according to Wilder, they're meant to be good friends !
It's fascinating to see how you can keep a big secret ( no chin ) like that quiet, for as long as possible, and get $1 million payday as a result.
But regardless, it seems that the bookies and around 75% of boxing people polled fancy the big American to land first, even Wlad has it 50-50.
And Maybe he will - even if you've got that achilles heel, if you've got the big punch, and land first, well you live to fight another day.
It makes a fascinating combination every time Wilder steps up, and I'd like to see him do it, but I still think the champion wins in style, and I've got 7-1 at ladbrokes on Stervain cutting through the hype and demolishing the American inside 7.

Has anyone seen this video of Stiverne and Wilder? there's a female arranging fighters like marrows at a village fete. It's bizarre. Who gave her that job?

Whoever gets the decision tonight , neither of them will beat Klitscho. Stiverne would be out pointed by Klitscho and Wilder would be KOd. Stiverne would be on the back foot in a very boring fight and Wilder in contrast would come forward and get caught with his chin unprotected. Fury has said he wants the winner of tonights fight because he believes Klitscho wont take him on. If Wilder wins IMO he beats Tyson Fury but if Stiverne wins Fury is in with a big chance.

I think Fury could outbox Wilder but Fury can be caught and if he gets caught by Wilder he won't get back up again.
As for tonight's fight I am well and truly on the fence I can't choose between them. Should be a cracking fight and I don't see it going the distance, no way.
Maybe Stiverne to win but I've no confidence behind that statement.
