Alba- I know some stuff I say comes across wrong, but ask people who meet me in person, way I say it is then best possible way, I love boxing and if I'm honest with my own brother being honest about mikey is no problem, his first ever mention on here was me raving about him, pagan fight was a brave fight to take but just feel he's lost momentum, isn't fighting enoigh and needs better opponents, I'm sorry but his style he needs to take advantage of being young and his relentless style will cause problems. Chloe thinks it's personel cause of ronnie rtc but it's really not, out of 3 dundee boxers my honest opinion is jamie wilson is one who may achieve big things, huge for weight and is awkward and getting his man power now, he's also lucky to be at a weight where it's not overly busy, I want them all to do well but I'm sorry But easy chants and wrecking the place just is classless, a lot of my friends where down there btw and will say same to them when I see them, see dancing etc that's fun and creates atmosphere but see jumping on tables and in the ring , just isn't ideal, I have a bit of banter rtc but when ronnie fans step over line I'll go up and tell them to tone it down as be ronnie who different suffers. Davie mcAllister will tell you as he takes it in right way and he said to me last night regarding some posts and I agree fight week airing it wasn't best thing Iv ever done, I wasn't wrong thoigh and hope they do learn from it. Iv been involved with all dundee fight nights, I think caird hall last time sold more balcony but this time mikey swarmed the floor and nailed sponsorship tables, if it's true regarding intake of cash mikey can bring any domestic fighter upto scotland and have home advantage . As nowhere will sell that kinda tickets out with your warren and Hearn ticket sellers like georgie Kean and mitchell smith, but for me he's ready to start getting in position for a british fight and taking eliminators and not wasting time with kind of opponent from last night, I'm sure you will take some compliments with some insults with this post but it is what it is:)

I have been reading with interest about the perceived lack of quality of opponents etc this is down to money any fight can be made if the money is good enough IMO

12k income, mikey can have his pick of any opponent which is my point. I Amnt dilusional the guy is selling to buisness class and tables are the clientele you want, for me they have tested it and should now pick s route and go for it, stop with these fights and just progress him, people may not like way I come across I get that but people who have seen him, handifstone, dalcfly ? It's wasted and blowing s big opportunity, jamie wilson can also be progressed to a scottish title fight, build on it, ronnie is fighting Peter cope in aberdeen on 18th april, granite promotions have the right idea for me, they upped there ticket price but matty mcAllister v craig kelly, ronnie Clark v Peter cope, darren trainor v Davie savage, marek will have a 50/50 foght aswell, that's value for money in my mind, ?

Easy chants were coming from all home boxers fans even Ronnie's, also where do you get wrecking the place Jamie, that is a blatant lie, nothing was wrecked, yea there were 2 guys dancing on a table for few minutes and were told off so came down.
In sport you will always get a few fans who step out of line i.e dancing on tables etc, there was not one bit of aggression or damage caused by any fans.
Everyone had a great night, and the atmosphere including fans was suberb.
Respect to the Boxers

Well I'll answer as your clearly a part of mikes fan base, wrecking the place comes from what I heard happened in mikes draw with martin McCord, also the what happened in his fight with billy Campbell where facts are facts they were starting to wreck the place, alba will back me up on this as he witnessrf it against rhys pagan, where barriers were just launched, while after that show I left to a football fan rubbish environment where both fans almost came to blows, don't sit and make me out a liar as I'll prove every point, I like mike but chloe making out my comments regarding some idiots was misplaced when for me it was mild, dancing on tables , for the record I watched video and 2 fans went in ring so I was wrong there, at time I seen a 3rd person but it was mike coach who cleared ring, easy chantd wrte not in ronnies section of fans at all and I know everybody who was in that section and none of them would do it, for me it was quite classless but I seen that mike started it so each to there own and my opinion isn't to say it's wrong, mike doesn't wanna touch gloves or that and shows respect after s fight so that's his choice, boxers have done it before and will do it again, Iv said I rate mike and the atmosphere is good but it needs rained in, drink and boxing don't seem to mix and lines are crossed:) anyone who has been to shows knows the facts so I'm not defending my views any further, it's getting boring and proberly making me look bad in the process, I tried to come across constructive at times, before show I was negative and wrong but after show my Comments all stand, my views and i stick by them,

. What are you hoping to achieve, you are getting so embarrassing now and yes i am a fan of all Dundee boxers.
This is so disrespectful the comments you are making respect to the Boxers Jamie!

I'm saying nomore on it, my point is don't let fans ruin it, won't be down to talent as he's got a shed load of talent. I said same after shows and none of it's personel, Iv known mike since school, i went about with his cousin for years, I cheerd him on last night, Iv commented publicly on how high I rate him, in all these comments I had a go at promotion and match making, he doesn't pick his fights, your choosing to take it that way, disrespectful to which boxers? Many others have my views but hey it's said and not worth going over, with the right positioning and calming it down a bit we can bring someone up and mike can win the British in 2015, bold statement but for me he can, he's got the backing and that title will be going vacant , those around him need to start doing right by him,

None of Ronnie's fans done any easy chants. It was done at a fight before and the people were spoken too. It's not acceptable for anyone to do these chants we try our best to say to all of Ronnie's fans that being respectful to fighters is the best way. We have even out it on his page. Anyone who steps foot in the ring deserves respect it isn't a easy place to be. These lads sacrifice so much for us to watch them try and knock each other out. Ronnie is very respectful of his opponents and asks us to try and make sure his fans behave with the same respect. We all clapped his opponent before and after his fight. This is why I have such a strong opinion on mismatches. Matchmakers are appointed to make sure fights are evenly matched and done so accordingly. In this sport fighters are putting there life on the line as anything can happen in there. When you get Mis matches like a couple of the fights last night that's when someone can get seriously hurt. As for the promotion I think they missed out on a few things and don't agree but they done well. There was about 400 people there in total good sales on the floor so they may have turned a profit which may encourage them to invest in another show. The show ran well the matchmaking wasn't great but then maybe there wasn't the money there to start off with it was more testing the water. I enjoyed the show overall. With no promotion and no real advertising can see how viable a big show in Dundee is. With the right fight the Caird Hall would be one of the best atmospheres you can get. Could sell the 2000 tickets for a big fight couple months notice. Using Tay FM and The Tele and Courier also linking in with the 2 football teams.. Couple of all Scottish fights boys would have a great show and make big money

Regarding comments about rowdyism at the end of the Towell fight.
This was a very exciting finish, and if you are a fan of Towell I can understand the reactions.
There are 2 issues.
Firstly, its the job of the stewards to prevent any unauthorised access to the ring. This can be difficult when there is a sudden movement by 3 or 4 people, from opposite sides of the ring. Which brings me to my second point. Neither the stewards nor many of the fans are used to attending professional boxing shows, and really don't understand what's expected in terms of behaviour or how to respond.
It wasn't such a bad incident, and was dealt with very quickly. I'm sure that all concerned will have learned from the experience.
This was a GOOD promotion, taking everything into consideration and its a pity that this is being tarnished by comments which seem to be more emotional than anything else. Dundee has a chance to build on the current interest in professional boxing in the city after many decades of absence. It was always a big amateur hotbed but the last pro I can remember was Bobby Bolland in the 1960s!!!!

Saturday was the first time i have been at a Pro show in Dundee and it was a good night. The Caird Hall is a wonderful venue and could really be the Mecca of boxing in Dundee just as we have the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen. With the right fights they could defo sell 2000 + tickets and with that kind of budget they could really push for big names to travel to box against Ronnie Clark, Mike Towell and Jamie Wilson.
I have read about the tickets and so and so sold X amount but imo the only ones that should need to worry about ticket sales are the boxers not from Dundee ie Andrew Mackay from Inverness and Conner Law from Fife. There will always be fans from Dundee that will buy tickets to see just one boxer but if they are offered a ticket from someone else on the show then if it is easier for them then they will buy it. Not all fans realise that ticket sales can count against a fighter if they are struggling to sell and just want to see their boxer fight no matter where the ticket comes from.
The crowd was a bit rowdy but not enough that with a couple of tweeks they could ensure that these things don't happen again in the future, everybody has to remember that it was Saltires first promotion there and imo they will have learnt loads from it and will manage to get things much better when they return.
1. Put barriers between the tables and the ring, we had to do this after our first promotions to stop people getting too close to the ring. This would ensure that fans can't storm the ring like at the end of Mike's fight. Imo it wasn't too bad but teh fans don't realise that it could hurt their boxers chances in the future of getting shows back to Dundee.
2. They could get the ring announcer to give a small statement on behalf of the boxers and promoter before the fights begin as to what kind of behaviour is acceptable at a boxing show ie No dancing on the tables, if anyone is caught doing this they will be ejected.
I would have no problem with any of our boxers boxing there in the future and I look forward to more pro shows closer to home!!

Evans was 9"11, felt mackay dominated the fight and made a slight mistake in the 3rd being but anxious, mackay was really good for a debut and took a decent fight for 1st,

I was there myself in support of Andrew Mackay and i must admit i was surprised at his composure as i have seen him in the amateurs going hell for leather. I am not a massive boxing fan but i follow him when i can and i thought the first guy Connor Law looked very talented. I will say after speaking to friends of Andrews that it had been awkward having to sell tickets for a show out of town and in the middle of the month with many people on monthly wages though i believe he sold about £2700 though i cant confirm this and it isnt my place to.
Of course this happens to many fighters and the fact that the Scottish Youths were on the same day no doubt hampered sales in general perhaps though all in all i thought it was a great show and i would certainly go again, beautiful building. Correct me if i am wrong and i mean no disrespect to the other fighters but a gentleman at my table said it was the closest matched fight on the card.

I agree regarding most of comments above, 2700 is the figure I heard he brought in which covers the cost of his fight which is what promotors ask for. Especially when it's your own promotor. Mackay did really well and for me it was the closest match on the card, but for me this was down to Andrew getting involved and if he had boxed it would have been a 40/36 scorecard as you could see the levels between them, but a pro debut good fight,
Middle of month and biggest factor was dundee United were playing in a cup final the day after and this was a problem for sales. It's a start and progress can be made:)

Thank you for the reply JamieM and i think the people at the table meant his opponents record compared to the other fighters opponents though i could be wrong. The final result was 40-35 i thought due to the the knockdown. Yes i never considered the football the next day.
