Soon as Perez hit the deck I knew that was done. Perez was out of it the ref should not have let him carry on. He didn't step back and let Perez walk to him either disgraceful.

Hopefully WBC mandate Wilder soon but Povetkin may get out again in the not too distant future.

That ref should be shot preferably by a chechyan warlord,he couldve got Perez paralysed,how Mike stood up from that first right hand I'll never know,but it was weird the way his body jerked when he first got put down,strange that Povetkin was at his heaviest,he looked lean to me,great win despite the refs actions

I noticed that Povetkin looked in better shape than usual. I wouldn't have guessed that he was at his heaviest.

Theres no way Haymon allows Povetkin anywhere near Wilder.Get that brown envelope ready...

It will be interesting to see what happens if Wilder-Povetkin goes to purse bids. Haymon is known for spending large amounts but can he compete financially with the billionare Andrey Rybinski? If Povetkin's side win the bids will Wilder be allowed to compete in a non-PBC bout?

Wilder has been pampered so far and facing Povetkin in Russia would be quite a change for him.

Atlas is a rubbish trainer, he thinks he knows more than he does. Its all about him rather than the fighter. Can't stand the man.

I don't mean to assert that he is on PEDs but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true, and that applies to many fighters and not just him. Perhaps his improvement in form simply stems from changes such as him becoming more disciplined and finding a better trainer, but I don't have enough information to say confidently either way. I do think it's rare for a fighter to show notable improvement in power and physique at his age and career-stage, so I can see why PEDs would come to some people's minds.

To be honest, Povetkin never seemed to be as dedicated to training as he should have been, so his physical improvement could well be purely down to him taking it more seriously.

Definitely a very weird & unlikely result that, something hokey about the whole thing. Pov is suddenly ripped & effortlessly knocking out an iron chinned fighter with the first punch he lands. Twice. Thanks to the incompetent numb nutted third man.
