Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?

Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. But from a phone it was horrible and SLOW.
So, there should be separate regular and mobile versions if they can't make one which is good in both environments.diddy wrote:Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. But from a phone it was horrible and SLOW.
As others have noted, boxrec probably needs a phone app. Involving actual site users in changes would certainly help web site developers, but that doesn't seem to happen much anymore. Did boxrec enlist any posters or heavy users in the development of this new version?diddy wrote:Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. App development is expensive. Very expensive. The Great John L wrote:As others have noted, boxrec probably needs a phone app. Involving actual site users in changes would certainly help web site developers, but that doesn't seem to happen much anymore. The watching feature is back, see http://boxrec.com/watching.nycutman wrote:BRING BACK THE WATCHING LIST !!!
That's asking after they've developed the app. I'm talking about involving people during the development. That's what I did for a living for about 25 years, and used to be how applications were developed.Ric wrote:Only since March 12. Yes, it can be, but enlisting actual users during development can be managed and actually save money. If you get it wrong it can cause a business to fail, or cost a lot more to re-engineer to fix what was done improperly.diddy wrote:App development is expensive. The dates are clearly MESSED UP, they are not like before where u could see who was fighting MOST RECENTLY, it is a huge F#CKING mess, change the site again or let us have an option to go back..Marina wrote:The watching feature is back, see http://boxrec.com/watching.nycutman wrote:BRING BACK THE WATCHING LIST !!!
On home page click/select more after Schedule & select location. No different to former sitefistic mystic wrote:The format of the site is messy now. It was neat and businesslike before. I'm a function before style guy, so this is disorienting and disappointing.
I especially enjoyed the list of upcoming events in my region. It was always the first thing I looked for on the Boxrec home page. Very sad to see it go.
What purpose did C'wealth ratings serve? Best you take another test drive for the last part of your comment.Rogers21 wrote:are the majority of people who dont like the new site just going to be ignored now then ?
and still i cant look at the commonwealth ratings like you used to be able to ???? also cant have more than one page open with different country's ratings only lets you have one at a time ???
We are not ignoring you. But we can't fix a problem that is not there, you can have windows open with the ratings of different countries.Rogers21 wrote:are the majority of people who dont like the new site just going to be ignored now then ?

I really miss seeing the number of knockouts in brackets by the boxers records in the schedule and results. Now you have to click on the boxer to get the KO details.
The new layout is all about presentation at the expense of content/information.yu265545 wrote:I have been visiting Boxrec for the last 10 years. I did what you suggested, and I can select my country (USA) and see all upcoming events in my country, but they used to be listed in proximity to my location. I don't see that feature anymore. Am I really dense, or is it not there?
