Harrison had a decent jab and underrated power. He was also solid, fit as they come with a big heart. I can see why folk don't like him as a person but he was a good fighter.

Scott was a beast, - never the best in his division, but tough as old boots, strong and with incredible stamina.

As for his alcoholism and reprobate behaviour, I'm of the never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his moccasins philosophy. Who knows what darkness lurks in his past.

Look at georgie best, a man who had everything at his feet, but just could not stop drinking, and who ultimately died an early death, and despite the public perceptions, really had a very sad life.

My aunt used to know Georgie, she was from northern ireland, and knew him through the fulham football club mob, as les strong was a good friend of her and her husbands. She said George was a quiet introspective soul, who wanted to be left alone, and who once confessed to her that he didn't want all the drinks people lined up for him, as they lived vicariously through him and the mirror of his perceived life. We all have an inner life that others cannot see.

Scott will hopefully find some peace somewhere down the line.

Somewhere there is a village minus their idiot! Get a life you moronic, odious little creep. A debate is a debate but keep your idiotic comments for another forum.

We're you hitting yourself over the head with a brick when you posted that?

What a nice post. Probably many a true word in there.
The only bit I'd quibble with regarding Besty is all that blonde and brunette arse he was getting - I bet he wasn't sad then.
And the football. Granted I've never had to do it in front of sixty thousand but I've always found that being in a game can make you forget everything else, if only for that hour.

George says the complete opposite in his first book, he says he enjoyed it as opposed to Gazza who seemed like he was traumatised and wanting to escape things.

You're being totally unfair there. Scott Harrison was a quality operator Personally behind the scenes he might have been a bit of a nasty piece of work but you can't really judge unless you know him I suppose. Boxing wise I think he actually under achieved because of his personal problems. You don't get to the level he did just by being bigger than the other guy ffs!
I take from your ridiculous accent, string vest and bottle to Iron Brew that you are Scottish?

Scott Harrison "quality operator"? no he wasn't, he was a talentless, empty shambles of a "man" with no boxing skills whatsoever.[/quote]

Why don't you go and post on East side boxing forum where all the other idiots post and leave this place to people that half half a brain and a bit of respect for fighters. Clown.

Scott was more than a big bully, he was world class and loeft British level very quickly. I hope he gets through his next incarceration and beats his alcohol habit/addiction - iit clearly brings him nothing but trouble. It's not nice to delight in others misfortune and errors. His paintings are surprisingly good and I hope he enjoys his talent.

I've been posting here for many years before you arrived, Jock. Why don't you take your ginger hair, haggis, low life expectancy and poor quality heroin over to east side?

A couple of years back a local scumbag who runs a taxi firm was boasting that Harrison was partying with him...none of us believed him I knew Harrison was off the rails but this guy is a pure fanny. Anyway one morning a taxi pulled into my carwash and it was the fanny in the front..."look, look" he shouted and when we walked round there was Harrison chewing his own face off in the back seat. He looked emaciated and it was a sad sight indeed. I just told the guy to get him home and piss off. The driver and him were both laughing like hyenas. Really sad such a guy would end up in bad company like that. He gave Wayne McCulloch some doing. Hope he gets his head straight and goes straight as what he did by beating up those old guys in Spain was terrible.

Drink and drugs are a real leveller, there was a kid around here who used to be a dancer, on cruise ships and body popping, breakdancing in music videos etc. He was really well known and we'll liked and ended up coked up all the time, got in debt to some local gangsters who had him running round doing errands etc. They buzzed off having this fella doing their shopping, washing their cars etc. They ended up giving him the mother of all beatings over 400 quid and he had to move to Hull.

He was just too big for Wayne, that was a super bantamweight against a light welter.

I remember enjoying that fight, for some reason.

That is a sad story mate - nobody should be forced to go to Hull.

There'll be more in Hull next week for a local bout than there was for Mitchell in London fighting for a World Title or Crolla in Manchester....

Harrison Brodie was a war while it lasted.

I was going to say it's probably one of the sad cases where both guys ended up serving time, but I was glad to read that Brodie was cleared of the cocaine charge; I'd never realised.

How many are they expecting? I know Mitchell Katsedis was something like 14,000.

They've already done 15,000.

Harrison always hung around scumbags. I remember being at the Harrison v McCullough weigh in, and one of the Jock crew threatened to glass the barman for not putting enough beer in the pint....was really poisonous.

I remember when he smashed the guy who was his Mrs's ex fella. Everyone got round and gave him a false story that he was 'defending himself from an attack' and even Scottish journos were finding it funny that he had got off. In the end, he should have been punished there and shown that he couldn't do whatever he wanted, and there would be consequences. It may not have worked, but the lack of accountability and a crew of people who will just kiss your ass would not have helped
