Has Wlad v Fury failed to attract the casual fan? It just doesn't seem to be getting any sort of buzz going.

You could be right. I always use my brother and mates as a gauge and he's not bothered about this one and has no plans to watch.

There does seem a distinct lack of buzz. Perhaps the public remember David Haye's declarations of war while foaming at the mouth and the resulting dismal fight (and that could refer to Valuev, Harrison or Klit).

I for one have never heard a positive remark about Tyson Fury made by the casual sports fan. He doesn't seem to be taken very seriously, which is no surprise really.

I would love Fury to rid us of this massive bore and will be rooting for him but he does seem ill equipped for the job. I'm guessing he goes down heavily in 1 or 2.

Seems like there's a bit of an argument brewing about the state of the canvas - loads of padding and therefore very spongy apparently. Fury camp not happy.

Well they've got 8 hours to get that foam back out,like peter Fury says its a 30 minute job.what a joke Klitschko is,I'd love the irony of Fury sending him crashing onto that foam.fkin cheat

Not a mention of this fight today in a couple of BBC sports packages I have seen.

Boxing has done this to itself. It really doesn't matter anymore.

Bit keen? I can see it taking Klitschko as many as 5 after a cagey start. I think we'll see a more authoritative K than usual, cutting off the ring and (carefully) pressing.

The only positive for Fury is that Klitschko doesn't move his head too well, so it might be possible to dissuade him with a solid workrate and good timing. But barring the biggest heavyweight upset since Rahman-Lewis, I wouldn't be surprised to see the first and possibly final KO by the end of the third. Fury's had the Audley/Khan path of fighting smaller men, choosing not to reschedule Ustinov or seek out Wach. Haye wasn't his fault and Whyte isn't a big enough name yet. Joshua's timing hasn't aligned, of course. But there's still Povetkin, Pulev, Wilder, Stiverne, Jennings, Takam, Teper and the rest. Even Price, back when, who - whatever you think of him - is a bigger man with a harder punch.

Fury's only fought 4 guys in the top 50 from memory (correct me): McDermott, Chisora, Johnson and Hammer. And the middle two, albeit with more mileage, were taken out convincingly by Haye and Joshua respectively.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Fury's better at elite level than some of us suspect, but this marks his debut for me.

Fury for all his antics is a very good boxer,technically very good especially for a HW,we have seen him over the years get careless,getting decked having toe to exchanges etc but more often than not when he's stepped up he's boxed very well to orders barely losing a round in the process,the Chisora fights,Johnson and Hammer fights were very composed and i think this will be the tactics for Wlad,

fun fights to be made with Fury as champ, obviously Klitschko has first dibs but imagine Fury vs. Wilder, Teper, Parker, Joshua, Browne, Washington, Ruiz jnr. and maybe even Mr. Haye.
Hopefully he keeps his opponents to English speakers where he can and gets some interest back in the HW Division...
