Has Wlad v Fury failed to attract the casual fan? It just doesn't seem to be getting any sort of buzz going.

You could be right. I always use my brother and mates as a gauge and he's not bothered about this one and has no plans to watch.

There does seem a distinct lack of buzz. Perhaps the public remember David Haye's declarations of war while foaming at the mouth and the resulting dismal fight (and that could refer to Valuev, Harrison or Klit).

I for one have never heard a positive remark about Tyson Fury made by the casual sports fan. He doesn't seem to be taken very seriously, which is no surprise really.

I would love Fury to rid us of this massive bore and will be rooting for him but he does seem ill equipped for the job. I'm guessing he goes down heavily in 1 or 2.

Seems like there's a bit of an argument brewing about the state of the canvas - loads of padding and therefore very spongy apparently. Fury camp not happy.

He's just playing games, saying he won't fight unless it is changed, it won't be changed and he'll be there tonight.

After seeing that Twitter footage I take it back, looks like a bouncy castle.

Not a mention of this fight today in a couple of BBC sports packages I have seen.

Boxing has done this to itself. It really doesn't matter anymore.

Just seen a video of a member of Fury's team moving around on the canvas. It's like a sponge

Bit keen? I can see it taking Klitschko as many as 5 after a cagey start. I think we'll see a more authoritative K than usual, cutting off the ring and (carefully) pressing.

The only positive for Fury is that Klitschko doesn't move his head too well, so it might be possible to dissuade him with a solid workrate and good timing. But barring the biggest heavyweight upset since Rahman-Lewis, I wouldn't be surprised to see the first and possibly final KO by the end of the third. Fury's had the Audley/Khan path of fighting smaller men, choosing not to reschedule Ustinov or seek out Wach. Haye wasn't his fault and Whyte isn't a big enough name yet. Joshua's timing hasn't aligned, of course. But there's still Povetkin, Pulev, Wilder, Stiverne, Jennings, Takam, Teper and the rest. Even Price, back when, who - whatever you think of him - is a bigger man with a harder punch.

Fury's only fought 4 guys in the top 50 from memory (correct me): McDermott, Chisora, Johnson and Hammer. And the middle two, albeit with more mileage, were taken out convincingly by Haye and Joshua respectively.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Fury's better at elite level than some of us suspect, but this marks his debut for me.

Fury for all his antics is a very good boxer, technically very good especially for a HW,we have seen him over the years get careless, getting decked having toe to exchanges etc but more often than not when he's stepped up he's boxed very well to orders barely losing a round in the process, the Chisora fights,Johnson and Hammer fights were very composed and i think this will be the tactics for Wlad,

Tyson knows how to use his height and reach well and moves very well too, seems very comfy when fighting lefty and i think that might be used on saturday throughout,Wladimir for all his accomplishment is pretty basic, effective but basic, jab cross jab cross with loads of holding and leaning,i think Fury uses his legs to get away from Klitschko and not allowing him to spoil, its gonna be tough for Wlad to pull and lean on Tyson anyway with the height

Klitschko obviously has a great jab which is his best weapon but Fury has a great jab too,not as strong as Wlads but maybe faster,IMO Fury is the better boxer going into this fight,he does everything better than Klit but hasnt got Wlads power or experience

Still if Fury listens to Peter i think he'll box to a decision :box: :box: :box:

fun fights to be made with Fury as champ, obviously Klitschko has first dibs but imagine Fury vs. Wilder, Teper, Parker, Joshua, Browne, Washington, Ruiz jnr. and maybe even Mr. Haye.
Hopefully he keeps his opponents to English speakers where he can and gets some interest back in the HW Division...

fornicate off, you sound like a fornicating casual. Tyson goes out to Germany and beats a great champion to become Heavyweight champion of the World and all you can talk about is a fighter that hasn't even won the British title yet or fought someone that can punch back.

Jesus, no way should Fury even attempt to box southpaw against Wlad, he'll be demolished by overhand rights within a few rounds if he does.

Really ?

You weren't confident before the fight of it working and thought Wlad would knock him out easily, don't see much to crow about personally.
