I got to admit I got tempted by the money side of things because you could've gone to the fight for free by buying double amount of tickets.

However a more sensible head prevailed, they 100% sold tickets to stubhub however as there is some blocks of 10 available when the maximum in a row you could buy was 4.

You could have a few devices on the go. It would still be pretty remarkable to get them in a row, though. Maybe they got them from Quigg's chip shop? Believe me, the touts will have got them from every outlet, they're very thorough.

To say you can do nothing about this touting situation is utter bullshit.
There is a system that works perfectly and completely takes the touts out of the equation and that is the Glastonbury system.
How it could work here is rather simple.
Say, for instance eventim. To buy tickets for anything they sell, you register and upload a passport-style pic (not just for each event but say your reg lasts two years). In return you get a registration number. So, when you go to buy a ticket you put in your reg number and postcode that immediately brings up the rest of your details, name address etc. When your ticket is sent out, it has your pic on it, meaning you and only you can use it. Therefore, touts cant buy a load to punt online as they are useless because people won't buy them to be turned away at the door on the night.
I'm sure there are tweaks to this system or similar ideas that wouldhave the same impact. So the 'we would love to stop it but can't' line is nonsense. They can if they want, they just won't. Wonder why?

Yes, very frustrating that there seems to be a complete lack of will to take this seriously.
Ridiculous now, in that genuine fans are being priced out of getting tickets.
And those of us who CAN pay for expensive tickets can't get them even when they log on when tickets go on sale (as I found out yesterday).
I refuse to go down the StubHub route; it's cynical, unnecessary, totally preventable--or it should be.
Looks like the government review into secondary ticketing which is currently under way is our only hope--although the signs so far aren't hopeful that much will be done. (There's a report in The Guardian today about how things are looking on that front)

I'm the same, I can afford to pay stubhub prices, but I wont. I don't mind paying for a service, but there is no service here, it's profiteering and bordering on thievery. When I'm at the rugby or football and see the touts I always want to give them a few digs. Wankers the lot of them.

Also intensely irritating is the self-congratulatory tone of the prompter and broadcaster: "Tickets sold out in 30 minutes", etc.
Yes--to people who have no intention of attending your event, but bought just to profiteer.
Hearn must know this full well.

Just to put it out there I think i'll be selling one £60 ticket as it looks like our group has a pull out.

Will be the face value of £75 (booking fee's, insurance etc). If there is any interest just pop me a PM, will be living in Newbury by the time the tickets come so would prefer someone living down that area so i don't get "it didn't arrive" issues.

Edit: The person hasn't 100% confirmed either way just yet but i'll know really soon
