Yeah true. When you put it like that my statement doesnt hold much weight! Ha. I think Crolla has fought quite a lot of washed up fighters aswell and also, a lot of Gallaghers fighters (partly due to his influence actually) have been carefully matched.Counter-puncher wrote:i thought this myself, the other night, for a momentlefty wrote:Ok, but a good amount of the time he does.Horse wrote:Not always.
then i took a step back and thought about it some more. i realised that most of Gallagher's fighters, most of the time, end up doing the same things; round after round, fight after fight. i'm not sure the 'gameplan' for Crolla has changed at all since he beat Andy fkin Morris in about 200fucken9 or whenever. john Murray, gameplan? walk forward with your arms up kid. Macklin under Gallagher, anyone?
so I realised that what happens is when a Gallagher fighter happens to beat someone who was fucken made for him ,we end up saying 'ooh gallagher, gameplan guru'. sometimes the 'gameplan' doesnt work quite that well. there's probably a parallel universe somewhere, where Crolla is still walking straight onto Derry Matthews' left uppercut...

Im working in Brazil, anybody any idea if any of the sports channels are picking this up in this part of the world. At the very least what US channel is covering it as I may be able to get some of their channels.
Gutted that I might miss out on this fight.

Hearn mentioned on iFL last week that he believed Frampton was very tight at the weight.Counter-puncher wrote:hmm. there's a couple of rumours, doing the rounds.......mickey1975 wrote:Frampton called off press stuff today. He's got a cold.

Just for the behaviour of the arrogant and annoyingly smug Joe Gallagher in the build up to this fight (that also part applies to Eddie Hearn) I hope Frampton destroys Quigg in the first round.

I don't think Hearn's been that bad at all in this particular build up. McGuigan has been worse.liamlion wrote:Just for the behaviour of the arrogant and annoyingly smug Joe Gallagher in the build up to this fight (that also part applies to Eddie Hearn) I hope Frampton destroys Quigg in the first round.

Just for talking about "banter juice" in one of the press conferences its enough for me to want Frampton to win!!!danamba7 wrote:I don't think Hearn's been that bad at all in this particular build up. I think its all manufactured to generate more ppv buys. They'll all be hugging after the fight. More wwe style bollocks that Hearn is notorious forliamlion wrote:Just for the behaviour of the arrogant and annoyingly smug Joe Gallagher in the build up to this fight (that also part applies to Eddie Hearn) I hope Frampton destroys Quigg in the first round.

Im going to this next week and i cant bloody wait,im totally buzzing, work this week is gonna drag like a bitch
As for the fight itself its a tough one to call, about as tough as it gets really,a genuine 50/50 between 2 undefeated world champs in their primes,no result would shock me
Ever since this fight 1st was mooted years ago ive always fancied Frampton to win,he's the better boxer technically, fights well off the back foot as well as forward, puts his punches together well is strong with good power without really loading up,seems to have a good chin,i dont think he was hurt in the Gonzalez Jr fight when he was down twice in the opener, also he's used to fighting under pressure on the big stage and is very level headed so i dont think the occasion will get to him although he has seem rattled by Quigg
In the last 6 months or so even before both mens last fights ive started to edge towards Quigg getting the win, maybe even by KO(body shots) I still think Scott is underated, probably due to being with Eddie and holding a paper title and the fact that he isnt Frampton whose a real fans fav,Quigg is super strong, dedicated, oozes self belief and i just think he can break Frampton down eventually in a superb edge of your seat type of fight,i imagine Quigg will be the aggresor throughout where as Carl will probably try to use his feet and brain by outboxing Quigg
I dont think Quigg and Joe Gallagher will ever employ the same tactics as the Salinas fight ever again,he seemed to give Yoandras the draw IMO,i think Quigg will come flying out the traps without being too wreckless as they know Frampton will punish him
Dont get me wrong Frampton winning wouldnt shock me either,i m just gonna back my hunch,i like both fighters,im a bigger fan of of Frampton though and would prob prefer he won but take nothing away from Quigg he seems a nice bloke too
Let battle commence

To me this is the first big and interesting bout of the year, I'm not sure now who'll win - I hope whoever does becomes a star.

the good thing is that both have now and always had a lot of respect for each other's boxing ability , hope we are not short changed with an early Quigg stoppage with a wicked body shot, especially if Frampton is tight at the weight .

I don't think it will last 12 rounds if it does I can only see a Frampton win on points. I think it be a very competitive few rounds 1-3 both landing, maybe a few knockdowns. As the fight wears on I can see Quigg frustrating Frampton, causing Frampton to be a little more aggressive than normal (winning rounds by it, impressing the judges) but it will be only a matter of time when Quigg lands a thunderous body shot or counter punch that will KO Frampton. I think this fight will actually live up to the hype (mainly in the UK.)
I can only see a rematch if Quigg wins, If Frampton wins (if he does I think it would be a UD decision, nobody would see a point in a rematch.)
My prediction: Quigg KO (mid - late)

Firstly, well done for getting tickets - they sold out so quick!! I managed to get 2 tickets and went to put my security code in, on my card and my time ran out (a few words were shouted) went back and all sold out!! I'm extremely jealous haha, the atmosphere will be electric, and the fight itself will be a cracker too - the only negative I have, is the undercard lacks quality I feel but, having a main fight like Frampton/Quigg you don't really need an undercard!handsofstone wrote:Im going to this next week and i cant bloody wait,im totally buzzing, work this week is gonna drag like a bitch e

P.s Stick some money on a Quigg KO9 (I feel it

Regarding the undercard i think its class, all but about 4 fights are 50/50s and the ones that arent are involving novices so im not fussed and am looking forward to seeing them do their thing,i seen Taylor fight in Edinburgh last year plus ive seen his other fights and he's def 1 to watch,Fitzgerald making his debut too and im hearing good things about him
Bring it on i say
