Re: Anthony Joshua vs. ??? - April 9th 2016

Chisora is a step up, it's sellable and AJ will 95% get the win. Perfect match for all concerned.
That's what Sky Sports seem to think...fightfan95 wrote:If Teper gets a ban then it's going to be Carlos Takam v AJ for IBF eliminator
Absolutely, but there is one problem. Chisora will not fight him for the same reason. He has a recognition, lot of people call him out. He will price himself out from Joshua fight and take on someone he has a good chance of beating, like Helenius.Syntax Error wrote:Chisora would be the best bet.
He's recognisable, so would sell easily, but he's very overrated, so Joshua should no problem knocking him over.
Any other info?SMALL AXE1 wrote:CHISORA IS FIGHTING TOMORROW IN GERMANY.
That's very true, O2 has been booked for April - Hearn said that they will announce the next opponent by mid jan/late jan, but a few days ago he stated it won't be till February now - so my guess is they're holding out for the Takam fight and delayed it due to the Teper incident but if not then AJ will probably fight someone that isn't a huge risk and then go for the Takam bout.the_doctor wrote:That's what Sky Sports seem to think...fightfan95 wrote:If Teper gets a ban then it's going to be Carlos Takam v AJ for IBF eliminator

Although the quotes from the IBF in that article imply that no negotiations have actually taken place yet. Judging by Hearn's Twitter, the April show is already arranged so that would suggest to me that Takam might be in the summer.

I think AJ v Price would be an absolute shambles of a fight, and don't genuinely believe it would create a fraction of the interest the Chisora fight would, so has to be at least be on par with a Chisora level fighter. I especially don't see Chisora wasting his time with Cornish or Whyte (who's out until May earliest after shoulder surgery anyway).fightfan95 wrote:I can see something like AJ V Price with a Hearn / Sauerland event, with Chisora fighting someone like Cornish or Whyte on the under card and then the winner calling out AJ and creating a massive hype...
Wow. Chisora is not being given ANY chance by the bookies! I don't even think Whyte was given odds as long as that...Londonirish wrote:Paddy Power has the fight in there listing already.

That doesn really mean much. They often have speculative matchups. For example bet365 already has Fury/Joshua, Brook/Khan, etc. Although these are not dated, whereas AJ/Chisora is.Londonirish wrote:Paddy Power has the fight in there listing already.

I'm setting myself up for a fall here but...when Chisora was first suggested as an opponent, my first thought was "that'll be easier than Whyte".Rob3_142 wrote:Wow. yea. I'm leaning toward Chisora for the European Title to add to the British and Commonwealth. The Revival wrote:Chisora or Helenius work for me.

Yeah but they'll be aware that the match up is being discussed for that date, I don't think it's because they know something we don't...Londonirish wrote:Tarkus wrote:That doesn really mean much. Yeah but they don't have a date beside them. This one has AJvsC on April 9th.. All the others have 31/12/16
I'm glad it wasn't just me then...the_doctor wrote:I'm setting myself up for a fall here but...when Chisora was first suggested as an opponent, my first thought was "that'll be easier than Whyte".Rob3_142 wrote:Wow. Whyte was/is on the way up, can clearly bang a bit and the spicy history motivated him and caused AJ to lose focus. Chisora hasn't looked the same since Haye battered him and he was a mobile punching bag against Fury second time round. I like Del Boy but I can't help but feel that he's lost motivation.
