I can see Khan winning 2 or maybe 3 rounds. Lets remember that yes he does have fast hands, but does not have the footwork to go with it, nor the defense. Khan is elusive? Since when? Maybe when he runs, or seems like it because he always starts out fast, but slow guys always find him. He is light years away from even an old Floyd in the defense department.
If Floyd has one judge scoring it even after shutting out Canelo, Trout and Lara get beat in very close fights by decision, no way will Khan win a decision against Canelo as he is far behind those three in terms of both skill and power. Closer to Trout but still behind. Eventually Canelo will trap him, and stop him.
Even if Khan outboxes him most of the fight, he is not getting a decision. But hey, throw your money on him anyway. So far we have Caldo and Broner picking Khan.
I can see why they kept this behind closed doors until the announcement. They knew that the boxing public would ridicule them for making a bogus fight like this. Rosado was a crap fight too, going 1-4? in his last 5. Andrade or Charlo would have been a real fight. This fight rivals Canelo vs Lopez, or worse. Khan struggled badly with Chris Algieri......has everyone forgot that?

i think the problem is the neck and chin. you simply are limited in training chin/neck and canelo may not be felix trinidad, yet still saul got some serious power at 154, khan being a natural welterweight simply doesnt have a strong neck, he simply wont take canelos punches at all. look what canelo did to a big string chinned guy like kirkland, who got a strng back and neck. khan gonne get destroye badly. like u said canelo lopez style.

We have the same damn situation now that we had with Cotto holding this belt. I can't stand that or the fact that Boxing doesn't step in and make this right. The Boxers are bigger than the powers that are supposed to legislate it and that's what is sad about the sport.
But the weight aside, I LOVE THIS fight. Khan, if you can believe it or not, will definitely be the fastest boxer that Canelo has faced. Yes, he's faster than Floyd and he's faster than Erislandy. This is a throwback type of fight and whether you realize it or not, it's a SUPERFIGHT. Good for Canelo for continuing to take tough fights. No showcase fights like Cotto had or how all these other champs are doing with their newly won straps. Good for Canelo.
My prediction is Khan by decision.
155 weight is about only thing giving Khan a chance here as Canelo cuts a lot of weight. It helps Canelo keep pedaling the myth that he's too small for middleweight sure, but in terms of the fight, 155 is way more advantageous to Khan.
My concern with Canelo fighting at 155 has nothing to do with the Khan matchup but the impending hurdle it will represent during the GGG negotiations. There's no way GGG will come down to 155 for that fight. 158? Maybe. I was just hoping that Canelo would bring some legitimacy back to the MW championship and I guess that's out the window with picking a Welterweight for his first defense though. Canelo and GGG will never happen the way this is going with these funky weight limits.
To me, it is mostly clear that Canelo is not planning to face GGG in his next fight. If he was, he would be fighting a decent middleweight in May.

No we'd rather Canelo fight ... (deep breath)
Daniel Jacobs
Billy Joe Saunders
Jorge Sebastian Heiland
David Lemiuex
Andy Lee
Peter Quillin
Chris Eubank Jr.
Arif Magomedov
Dominic Wade (Could have been negotiated before the fight was made)
Hassan N'Dam
Sam Soliman
Curtis Stevens
Tureano Johnson
Basically ANY top 20 middleweight, because if he is going to fight GGG, we (real boxing fans) want to see him fight a real middleweight.
But if he wants to fight a smaller man ... (deep breath)
Erislandy Lara
Jermall Charlo
Demetrius Andrade
Austin Trout
Jermell Charlo
Carlos Molina (yuck)
Julian Williams
Charles Hatley
Michael Soro (Who that?)
Jack Culkay (Who that?)
Basically ANY top 10 Super Welterweight fighter, many of which are VERY intriguing and great fights.
But if he really wants to fight someone really smaller than him ... (deep breath)
Keith Thurman (Could have been negotiated before the fight was made)
Shawn Porter (Could have been negotiated before the fight was made)
Kell Brook
Timothy Bradley Jr. (Could have been negotiated before Manny's decision)
Manny Pacquiao (Could have been negotiated before Manny's decision)
Errol Spence Jr.
Those are all fighters many boxing fans would rather watch Canelo fight.
Did I mention that the this fight is on PPV ... like $70?
Amir Khan, who got KO'ed and beat around at 140, against a guy with decent power who will be 170+ come fight night.
And I'm being told that this fight should cost $70 to see.

First thing that comes to mind is a Canelo stoppage, Khan has amassed enough boxing smarts to win the fight but this is a 12 rounder and at this stage I need convincing he has enough.
I like the match up it should be entertaining.

We are talking about a fighter who in his last bout won a dubious decision against Algieri, you really think this will be a good fight, it's a disgrace, if khan had beaten all comers with ease, fine, he struggles and has marshmallow for a jaw

They could sell this easily.
The schooling Mayweather gave Canelo for starters could resemble something Khan could do.

155lb is not middleweight. I am sick of this! Canelo really needs a beat down by a REAL 160lb middleweight champ.

Amir Khan an improved fighter. He impressed me against Luis Callazo. But...he has that "psychotic" boxer/combat background to DEAL with! How does he escape his past against a heavier fighter who is as consistent as Canelo?
Also: don't get too bent because they fight at 155! What would the governing groups "step in" about? It is OUT OF THEIR HANDS! The title is 160lbs. That means UNDER 160! Their isn't anything for the groups to do! It's the fighters call completely! Why is it even any issue?

Khan definitely isn't mayweather in any way, shape or form and khan struggled with algieri, the only way he lasts the distance is put his sprinting shoes on, canelo will hit him with a good shot and that will be all it takes

2016 in boxing is all about GGG vs Canelo at the end of the year. Both guys have jobs to take on 1-2 fights to build interest before taking the world tour to promote it. Canelo chose to have a tough fight, any which way you want to slice it. Khan hasn't lost in almost 4 years and at a scheduled 155, it's going to be a tough fight for Canelo. So much so as to put the GGG/Canelo fight in jeopardy.
The proof of this will be in the pudding when you see the PPV numbers this does. This fight will do as well or better than Canelo/Cotto's 900k plus buys.
You are pretty wrong fella AND you will buy the fight and watch like the rest of us.

I can't understand the complaining about this fight. For years, we've been complaining about how the WW division is jacked with talent but no one wants to fight each other. If you forget about the MW belt for a second. This fight marks the 3rd fight scheduled between top Welterweights so far this year. Canelo/Khan, Thurman/Porter and Manny/Bradley. THIS is what we've been clamoring for so to complain about Mega Fight like this makes zero sense to me. If Canelo demolishes him, so what? It's still going get us closer to determining who the best fighter is 147-155.
It's hilarious. You'd rather see Gabe "my eyes bleed when i yawn" Rosado get beat up and stopped in 3 rounds instead of a boxer like Khan with fantastic speed and technique? Crazy. Just crazy.

He has speed but he is predictable and easily timed, hasn't got great foot work, can't feint with his body, he will be monstered by canelo, floyd doesn't panic under pressure, khan will try and race out of pressure and walk straight into a shot, who will be sponsoring the soles of khans shoes, we will find out on the night

Khan's a different fighter at this weight. He's not sucked down and he's got a better chin because he's not worn down from using the whole training camp to lose weight. Yeah, he almost got beaten by Algieri but I think he took that bout VERY lightly. He'll come in prepared and give Canelo a great test. I honestly think so and if he can avoid the knockout, which will be tough because Canelo's also gotten a lot better, then I think it's going to be a tight decision that he could win.
Maybe I'm wrong. I'm in the minority for sure so I understand where you all are coming from. But it will definitely be a great night either way you look at it. That I'm sure of.

Please believe that this is Oscar's doing and not Saul's. We all know that Canelo is taking on the very best and apparently isn't afraid to face GGG who he has sparred with numerous times already.
It's clear that Oscar has no plans for Canelo to face GGG as he is doing what he's learned from the Master Bob Arum in milking the cow.

He's not big for a Welterweight but making 140 was killing the kid and it was evident in a lot of his fights notoriously fading badly in those fights. I was an Div 1 -NCAA Wrestler and know way more than I want to know about sucking weight and the effects it has physiologically to the body and performance in combat sports. Scientifically, i could explain my case but you'd fall asleep. But the easiest and quickest factor is simply, reaction time is slowed with drastic water weight loss. Couple that with a depleted body fatiguing faster than a healthy one. In a sport like boxing and with Khan's history in the ring, it's the difference between have the ability to #1 avoid a punch and #2 having a healthy body to withstand it.
Go back and look at Khan's fights since moving up. 140 pound fighters were giving Khan spaghetti legs in every fight pretty much but he hasn't been buzzed once since moving up and facing larger opposition. That's probably the best proof.
