Which is why he would always have a punchers chance. He also had an excellent set of whiskers.
That's where we differ, I don't think he had the power to bother a great chin. A punchers chance against oquendo & maskaev for sure. He'd be lucky to beat rahman 3 out of 10 in fair fights. Not that you have many choices in the game, I've just had enough of the tua/cooney love in general. David has zero advantages vs Joe, I'm sticking with no chance at all.

Agree to disagree.
Although I would love to have seen how the fight played out. 15 rounds in a phone booth?

Entertaining and one sided until Frazier stops him midrounds IMO.

I think Tua shuts down and throws less punches. Frazier almost certainly wins, but if Tua throws one of his best shots and Frazier doesn't see it coming, he's gonna be hurt and Tua could finish him off. There's a lot of ifs in that scenario, so Frazier UD15 most of the time.

Hard to envision him doing what Foreman couldn't.

Marvin Hart the reigning Champion comes in to the ring supremely confident, having defeated the great Jack Johnson via a 20 round division.
Rex Layne enters the ring focused and resolute, aware of the big task ahead of him and what gameplay he wants to employ.
The scheduled 15 round fight starts off with Layne pushing the pace. Hart (having fought in much longer distances paces himself for the end rounds).
But the constant pressure from the challenger entices the Champ to come out, drop the hands & let them go.
And with this, the bout is settled. Layne with a 49% KO ratio overcomes the Champion with a barrage Of punches in the 7th round. Hart's corner was confident with their own man having a 43% stoppage ratio, but it wasn't enough on this occasion.
Layne can't believe that he's finally achieved his destiny in becoming World Champion. And silent tears drip down his cheeks as he walks out of the arena to the triumphant roar of the crowd.

After taking care of Floyd on two consecutive occasions in one round, Sonny Liston invites Ingemar to a quick dance as a warm up before he faces Clay.
Liston puts in his third round in as many fights. Ingemar says hello to the canvas again....this time both feet are twitchin'.
Guess nobody told him to stay out of the way.
Jersey Joe Walcott

Walcott?
Paolino Uzcudun goes straight at Walcott applying constant pressure round after round. Walcott didn't like being forced into a corner or against the ropes and he didn't punch hard enough to stop the Basque Bulldozer. Uzcudun by decision or late technical knockout.

Ok I'll follow some of the rules.......
The obscure Archie Moore steps up from the LHW division to see if he can rest this HW championship from a kindred LHW .......and sure enough, everything turns out just fine for Archie, and he's got his HW belt at long last.
Rutherford B Hayes.
Ok if you don't know Rutheford, Let's go with Gentleman Jim Corbett

You know I actually think Henry Cooper could have beaten Terrell. Cooper was only really in trouble against huge or fast punchers and Terrell wasnt really either.
My champ is Primo Carnera
I'm not playing, but I will jabber.
Henry Cooper wouldn't have sniffed beating Ernie Terrell.

Slapsie Maxie Rosenbloom comes into the ring a career heaviest 196lbs, rumours are he's piled on the pounds to add to his none to impressive punch power
Nobody has given him a chance against Corbett but he starts well, boxing nicely and matching the similar sized Corbett for strength up close.
Rosenbloom survives a few scares, but Jim seems unable to knock him over, it goes to the scorecards and Rosenbloom takes it on a split decision.
My champion is former WBO king Henry Akinwande

Chuck wepner, one of the few men in boxing history who can match Akinwande in size, does what he does best and turns the fight into an ugly sloppy brawl. After gettung his face turned into a bloody mess, wepner bounces back in the 8th to land about 200 rabbit punches, 300 slaps, and a beautiful footstomp+right cross to the body combo to drop Akinwande and even up the score cards.
An amused Michael Buffer reads the scorecards and anounces the newly crowned WBO champ via split decision Chuck Wepner! Chuck is rushed to the hospital for stitches before he can give a press conference and stallone begins work on the script for Creed 2.
Since we're using big guys, I nominate my champ Vital Klitschko.

After his recent win against Jess Willard, Gunboat Smith was no stranger to fighting bigger men and with a win against legend Sam Langford in his last fight, he was brimming with confidence.
He started fast and got under Klitschkos jab on several occasions to work the bigger man to body and head.
Vitali, not one to back away, traded blows and the fight quickly turned into a classic.
Approaching the middle rounds Vitalis size and strength started to tell and he started to pick up rounds but many in the media and audience had it close. Vitali's stamina however started to fail him as the relentless pace of the fight wore on. Smiths military fitness was pulling him through.
Towards the tenth round Smith was ahead on most cards by a couple of points, but both men looked like they had been in a war and Vitalis left eye was closing fast. Vitali began leaving a lazty left jab out, attempting to block Smiths view, but he timed it well at the end on the tenth and detonated his famous occipital punch over Vitali's left shoulder, knocking him out cold for the only time in his career.
The crowd fell silent and Boxrec's boxing history forum simultaneously posted "fornicate off davie, that never happened!"
Sticking with the era, for my champion, I'll take Gunboat conqueror -
Harry Wills

Follow the rules Buzzmeister, Liston WAS a World Champ, only contenders can be considered...
Johansson still awaits the non-Champ who could knock him off his perch.
