Yeah that'll always be a damn shame that Taylor didn't get his W in that fight. One would always wonder if he would've fought on too long and ended up as damaged as he is without losing that fight too.

Tony Canzoneri KO3 over Jack Kid Berg. That is hard to top. It was for both the lightweight and jr welterweight title.

Both guys weighed under 135 for that fight though. Great win for 135

No Alfonso Frazer beating Locche by wide decision

Henry Armstrong TKO 9 Pedro Montanez (1940)

Douglas KO of Tyson was the best upset... Douglas dominated - but two corrupt judges had Tyson ahead going into the 10th and final round.

Gene Tunney easily beating Jack Dempsey was the biggest EVENT because so many people attended and paid so much money; more than any fight ever before and for the next 44 years... Dempsey's charisma and popularity was amazing.

Leon Spinks was the most inexperienced Heavyweight Champ - record: 6-0-1. Ali cherry-picked Leon to avoid Larry Holmes who was a killer.

Michael Bentt was the most unlikely Heavyweight Camp. He had only 11 fights with a KO loss. Tommy Morrison cherry-picked him for God knows what reason and got knocked out... Bentt lost his first Title Defense to the less than dangerous Herbie Hide - who almost literally killed Bentt.

Jack Johnson beating Jim Jeffries in 1910 in front of a massive audience of white people was interesting.. Johnson was fearless.. In response to Johnson winning Congress passed legislation banning the interstate transport of fight films. It significantly affected the income of many pugilists because the law wasn't repealed until 1939 when it was declared unconstitutional. It took 29 years to figure that out, and you think politics is nuts today.

For game plans... Ray Leonard vs Wilfredo Benitez was great... Leonard was 24-0 and Benitez 39-0... Leonard knew Benitez had a wide stance and fought a bit off his front foot - and tried to slip everything and counter.. His strategy was nailing Benitez straight down the pipe with mostly jabs and a few straight rights - and following up with combinations.. It worked to perfection.. He floored Benitez with a jab and stayed with it.. Benitez hit Leonard with a significant number of counter-punches but took more punishment in return.. Ray stopped him late in the 15th.

Mike Weaver wanted John Tate to expend himself completely throwing a ton of punches... Weaver planned to save his energy and attack late when Tate was exhausted... Weaver took a terrific pounding but wrecked Tate with a left hook with less than a minute to go in the 15th.

On a hot night the cagy Jack Kearns wanted Joey Maxim to goad Sugar Ray Robinson into throwing a ton of punches and running out his gas tank... Maxim kept telling Robinson "you're not breaking popcorn Ray - can't you punch?" Robinson tried to hurt the bigger man and exhausted himself.. He barely made it back to his corner after the 13th and quit in his corner.
