True, but he's also a bit of a laughing stock on social media. And Brook has title.

Amir is the meme king of boxing however
Khans 1.82million followers on Twitter don't seem to mind...
A lot of that is based around him being a Muslim of Pakistani origin. Not usually a hotbed of boxing.

And yes Amir is the bigger name, but what other big fights are out there for him? Last time he was seen in a ring he was settling down for a long sleep. Not exactly a platform to jump into a big fight.

Pacquaio, Garcia, Thurman? Last time Brook was out he was getting his face broken up so the platform both stand on seems fairly equal.

Difference between moving up in weight and losing to a p4p fighter on injury and going to sleep for the 3rd time (in similar circumstances granted.)

And do you think any of the fights above would end any differently?

Ok Pacquiao is actually not a bad fight given Manny's age and the payday it would bring. And Khan could outspews the ageing PAC man.

I agree that Khan has the better position in terms of PR and so on... but he doesn't need to bend right over for the Khan family.

Kell Brook ‏@SpecialKBrook - 4 hours ago
70% to winner 30% to loser put your money were your mouth is!

http://www.BS.com/brook-khan-w ... nd--112986

lastnight Hearn is reiterating Kell cant make 147 comfortably and is a better 154 fighter, next day Kell is begging Khan to get in the ring with him again.
Hearn and Kell aren't on the same page and this is why Khan is in the power position and can/will get the bigger cut if the fight happens...

I still have Kell down to win the fight though...

That last interview with a total Khan nut-hugger:

"How long would it take you to knockout Brook? 1 minute? 2 minute?"

Throughout this video the narrative is "Kell Brook will be getting his biggest pay day in his career, and we're happy to give him that" - Asif Vali

Now imagine you gave that a roll reverse; 'Amir Khan will be getting his biggest pay day in his career, and we're happy to give him that' - Eddie Hearn

They're both stepping into their best potential pay day, so to put all the emphasis on Kell seems a little bit obvious. "Don't worry about what the guy on the other side of the ring is getting, just worry about what you're getting, which is the biggest pay day he'll ever get". Again, rolls reversed. It's pretty obvious the way they're angling it. If the projected numbers give you a net lump sum, and 30% of that lump goes to Kell, it's a 70-30 split.

When you talk about who the A side is, and who the B side is, in terms of global exposure, Khan is, no doubt about it. But let's look at the logistics here. This fight is happening in the UK, it would be brainless to have it in the US. Sky Sports are the leading name in PPV boxing events here, which Matchroom, run by Eddie Hearn, are in association with. Both Brook and Khan are coming off the back of massive defeats to global superstars, with Kell's fight being on prime time PPV in the UK. Kell Brook and Eddie Hearn still hold quite a lot of the cards, and it is incredibly naive to believe that Khan will bring 70% of the money to the pile.

There's clearly something in the negotiations which both promoters are not telling the cameras. As Hearn said, Frampton, Quigg, Bellew, Haye all had to take a hit on the cut to get the fight through, this should be no different.

In both Frampton/Quigg and Haye/Bellew it was Hearns fighters that took the smallet share, despite their Sky Sports association they were less well know.
This fight will be no different. Khan has wider recognition so should get a bigger slice of the pie just as Frampton and Haye did...

I still think Brook should should take the smaller share, I don't think anyone is disputing that. Both parties need to settle on 60:40 and get on with things. As it stands, I don't believe either fighter wants this fight.

I think this is pretty much bang on. The thing with America is such an irrelevance in all of this. Showtime might pick it up to show the highlights between fights if they have a card on that weekend but they're not going to be able to generate a buzz in America for the 'Brit Guy who got sparked out by Canelo' v 'Brit Guy who had his face smashed up by GGG'

This fight is relevant in the UK and sells in the UK only

I think Brook wants it, he knows he's the favourite to win. I think he's just over valuing himself.
Khan wants compensating for a fight he is likely to lose. Once he has lost to Kell his options dry up.

65/35, gets this over the line.
Giving Kell a huge payday in a fight he is likely to win.
Khan would want a rematch and then Kell can set the terms.

Brook is being shortsighted imo...

It is extremely confusing. Why are neither parties uttering the words 60:40? Even if it is 65:35, as it stands, Brook is standing on 50:50 and Khan is standing on 70:30. They're both morons if they're not prepared to move.

If Khan is wedged, which i'm led to believe he is, then he doesn't have to budge.
Hes in the ultimate power position, he has fornicate-you money.
Sucks for us that want to see it but can't blame Khan for having a price and sticking to his guns. We'd all love to be in that position in life...

Depressing but true my friend.
Kell more than likely wins as the poll suguests. He needs to massage Khan's ego here.
Offer Khan 60/40 publicly. Accept 65/35 if still nothing.
Take the fight and win, Khan loses and the big fights go away.
Khan will have no option but to ask for a rematch.
Then you get to dictate your terms.
That's how I would handle it.

Brook being stuck on 50/50 is never going to happen.
Nobody in there right mind has it at 50/50.

This fight can happen if Hearn and Brook start thinking like the B side of this fight...

I think it is extremely hard for me to believe that Brook is hard up financially. I don't know what he picked up for the GGG fight, but I'm assuming it was a few million. Maybe Brook is less principled than I am, but because of the unwarranted greed that Khan is demonstrating, I would be incredibly reluctant to give him the pay day at my own expense. This is at a 70:30 by the way. If both parties are a little more open to pushing this through, then it's quite possible either 60:40 or at worst a 65:35 can be reached.

Brook can, and in my opinion will pick up plenty of good pay days in the future, irrespective of if he fights Khan or not.

agreed. 40% best case, 35% worst.
Has to be better than facing a very tough mandatory in Spence then moving up to a 154 division with very few big pay days in it...

Well I think he beats Spence, but then all fights should be hard at this stage of his career. The more big fights he wins only raises his profile in the future, be that at 147 or 154. I personally would like him to stay at 147, but accept that it's getting difficult to make that weight.

you cant always rely on the future Rob, brook already bust his eye socket and that could be an injury that could easily reappear, ive seen it many times, if I were brook I would take the fight while its there
