Brook has slipped from the casual radar, and Vargas is a complete unknown to them. Brook and Hearn have ballsed it up by making it PPV, shouting about Bramhall Lane etc. If this is at Sheffield Arena, I bet there's still tickets available a few weeks before the fight. They can absolutely forget fighting at Bramhall unless it's in a Banqueting Suite.
When's this going to happen? Bramhall Lane in the pissing rain in October? Even Sheffield United fans don't want to go there then, let alone the casual boxing audience paying £50+
As for the fight itself, because of all this sh*te that's gone on, I hope Brook loses. Vargas is coming over and accepted a contract. They are the ones who've dicked about and Brook is the one that needs Vargas. if it doesn't come off, Vargas can walk into a Bradley rematch or any of the other Welter's in the USA. Thurman etc aren't answering the phone to Brook without two belts.
Brook wants to sit at home feeding his face with Toblerone and con the world that the likes of Gavin etc are worthy opponents for him rather than actually fight anyone who might beat him.
He's not even as "Special" as he'd like to make out. I'd 100% back Porter if he ever fancied that rematch.
What Brook should be doing is getting his fat arse in two seats on the plane and getting in faces in the USA. have a fight over there and get known to some of his potential opponents. Hearn however isn't blameless and has sucked him off to a position Brook buy's his own shite.
It's an absolute pisstake.
That made me think of Alan Partridge

After Brook's last fight in March, Hearn promised (in many interviews) to deliver Brook a huge fight in the summer. We're now in July and he hasn't even got a fight date.

Fast Eddie said it'll be finalised this week. Bit of a shambles considering Vargas apparently signed his end of the deal over a month ago. Doesn't look very professional at all!

I've been giving Brook stick but going off that interview, Hearn seems just as at fault if not more. Like I said, surely you should work out the pot on hand before offering one fighter terms as that would help prevent this kind of thing happening.

According to Hearn the deal Vargas signed was with Top Rank not with him.

Hearn's excuse was the fall in sterling since Brexit will cost him an extra £250,000. He also admitted he'd make more money from the Golovkin fight, which perhaps explains Brook's fight being put back.

Even that seems a poor excuse to me though as surely he should have planned for that possible eventuality before making the deal or waited until the EU referendum was out of the way.

A lot of contracts include clauses regarding exchange rates to ensure one party doesn't end up badly exposed in the event of a major fluctuation. Surprised to hear Matchroom didn't include something similar under the circumstances...

"Yes. Specifically Toblerone. I would wake up in the middle of the night and eat an entire Toblerone. And I don’t mean a small one. I mean a medium-sized one. In fact, in the best chapter in my book I talk about when I gorged on Toblerone and drove to Dundee in my bare feet."
You've been raised on good comedies lad haha.

The Toblerone reference was intentional.

I just looked up the Peter Kay one and the quote is actually his cabaret suite. But near enough haha.

shouldn't have been a Leave cheerleader whooping about how he's got his country back along with his old man. Pair of fornicating essex tory pricks.

Was just having a quick gander through Hearn's twitter feed- he's quite a nasty piece of work at times. I know he gets stick but I've seen one tweet where's called some fella "sloth" for criticising him. Charmer.

Hahaha, camp Eddie getting his country back. All that cheap immigrant labour was anathema to him and his business model of course
What a pudendum.

This surprises you?! I mean, that he turns all snidey and cuntish if faced with anything less than abject fanboyism?

No, unfortunately not really. You'd think with his slick PR type approach though he'd be a bit more careful what he puts out there, however I overestimated him in that sense.

What was that stuff I read about Hearn being a bully at school or college or something. Jodie Marsh that's the one, was struggling for her name. I can definitely see that side to him, nasty little fuc*er I reckon underneath the smarm and charm.
