Hmm..good question.

More bullets for Boxing to shoot itself with. The amount of moving parts continues to grow and without any centralized group to monitor weights and measures, corruption continues to grow until it's beyond repair. Just a matter of time.
Everyone knew that Wilder wanted no part of fighting in Russia and fixing it from happening was as easy as this. If they are not faking injuries to postpone fights, they are making up infractions like this one to get what they want.
Boxing is very sad right now. Not even close to as bad as it's going to get either unfortunately.

But hang on, how is Wilder and his team responsible for this? They postponed the fight because Povetkin's results were initially reported as positive. What has that to do with Wilder?

How is Team Wilder responsible for any of what happened? They have zero control over the doings of the Drug testing agency

No official report came out that Povetkin failed any test... The WBC said they were postponing the fight to "investigate" a test that Povetkin passed with flying colors... The media misreported everything VADA and the WBC said... Those agencies NEVER said Povetkin was guilty of ANYTHING or failed ANY test... They merely insinuated that the test results warranted further "investigation" while they postponed the fight.. NOT cancelled it.
Just because bloggers and haters jump all over Povetkin, while not knowing WTF they're talking about... DOESN'T give DiBella and Wilder license to foam off at the mouth... calling Povetkin a cheater... a coward... the Energizer Bunny... a steroid freak... a steroid cheat... and use their position of power and influence in the sport of Boxing to try to destroy Povetkin's career... and destroy Russia as a great venue for World Championship Boxing matches.

Bullshit, as usual!
WBC published an official statement on their official site that due to "adverse results"(clean language for "tested positive") the fight is "postponed to unknown date" (means "cancelled", do not mean "cannot happen sometime in the future" ).
That's practically all the reliable info we had and have. Boxers, promoters and forum members are not a legit sources and considered as bullshit by any reasonable man!
BTW, it's interesting how WBC will explain "dirty" test after number of "clean" tests

Precisely, the idea that this is somehow cooked up by Wilder or his people is ludicrous. An anomaly was noticed in the test results, the WBC refused to sanction the bout until they knew what was going on.
The WBC are a sanctioning body, they want to collect fees, it's not in their interests to lose money by postponing fights, these wild conspiracy theories are just a load of bunk.

This fight had flees from the start and was ill conceived to expect Wilder, as champion, to have to travel to Russia to defend the title. But that's how the purse bid turned out and Wilder was not happy about it. They were looking for the smallest of reasons to cancel this fight and by the looks of this article, you almost can't get any smaller if you're a reason. Wilder and Haymon didn't even consider rescheduling or giving time to Povetkins team to get to the bottom of the results. They appeared to have gotten exactly what they wanted with this and only the naive will not consider that the most powerful person in boxing, Al Haymon, may have had something to do with the test results. I wouldn't put anything past the shadiness that exists with any of these promoters.

If Haymon have so much power over WBC, why he let them to make Povetkin mandatory??? It was commonly known that Povetkin don't fight outside Russia since he's under Riabinski.
WBC could just ignore Povetkin, as IBF, WBA and IBO did and do.

You're clearly full of BS... "Adverse result" is waffling language and DOESN'T mean a failed test.. Why didn't they give the precise test result of .07 microgram like Ryabinski did??? Why don't they just say Povetkin failed the test??? They haven't done that because they know .07 easily passes muster. They know it's WAY under 1 microgram, which anything under was an allowable concentration.. They know Povetkin passed all his tests with flying colors and they don't want people knowing that, because that information won't kill the fight. So Povetkin's team is the ONLY entity giving out the test results.
American promoters wouldn't have gotten a damned dime out of the fight because Ryabinski won the bid -- and the promotion was going to Moscow, possibly along with the Heavyweight Title.. The WBC and VADA wanted to screw Povetkin and Ryabinski and destroy the promotion because they're in tight with Haymon, Wilder, Dibella, and the whole corrupt group of Americans who would love to shut out Eastern Europe as another destination for major fights like Germany and the UK are starting to be.

I rarely respond to him but there was this and something about 50 year olds on drugs winning national titles in cycling in France that have made me bite.
He probably doesn't realise the difference between DAVE and HBO. He's missing out on some vintage top gear episodes is asd

Wilder still needs to prove himself after all this time, that's why he should fight somewere else, at this moment he only continues to prove Wilder only dares to fight people that have absolutely no chance against him.
Mostly world title "defences" against guys that aren't even full time pro boxers, it's a joke.
Wilder has (by distance) the worst opponends in the entire history of the WBC title defences ever.
It's not short notice, he was planning to fight on that date anyway and wasn't it Wilder who allways showed off about his abilities that he doesn't have problems with fighting on short notice? Also, Wilder does fight for his daughter, right? Or well, that's what he claims, not money, or is that another lie of him?
On top of that let's get real, Wilder simply doesn't bring much money, not even in his own backyard, many other boxers are far more important as he is and generate more money, I think he would actually have made more money against Briggs in the UK as against that junkie he's going to fight now.
I think I can name about 30 boxers that would easely destroy Wilder's next opponend, including Briggs btw.
If you simply compare boxers like Mike Tyson for example to the football players of back then and after that Deontay Wilder to the football players of right now, then you notice how much of a joke Wilder is.
I'd probably prefere watching Andy Ruiz his fight above Wilder his.

Wilder can beat any fighter out there right now and will continue to do so for a long time. Povetkin's career should have ended in May but it will continue on a few months if he can lay of the drugs until a rematch is made. Eddie Hearn won't let AJ near him until AJ is known in the US. Peter Fury says Wilder is a tougher fight than AJ so they would be more inclined to fight him if they win. Wlad is leaning toward retirement if he wins and wanted no part of Wilder before Fury.
Andy Ruiz has actually fought weaker opponents than Wilder and is not on track to fight for a world title by fight 33.

Kovalev has given an interview to lenta.ru:
В организме Александра Поветкина накануне боя с Деонтеем Уайлдером обнаружили мельдоний. Вы когда-нибудь принимали этот препарат?
- Его принимал любой спортсмен-профессионал, который отрабатывает больше одной тренировки в день. Милдронат, который включили в список запрещенных препаратов, — витамин для сердца, и я считаю внесение его в список запрещенных препаратов обычной провокацией.
They asked him about meldonium and if he has ever taken it. His response was: "It was used by every professional who does more than one practice per day. It is a vitamin for a heart and I consider its ban to be a provocation".
