You don't follow boxing closely, do you? You would have known almost two days ago, PBC's announcements of fights on the free networks.
... and all the best cards are on Showtime.
... and do you care to address your original point about the PBC not being free or will you instead continue to employ diversionary tactics to avoid admitting to being wrong?

The reason many people welcomed PBC is fights shown on free TV. Clearly, that business model failed. PBC still has the same name, but its essence changed.

Yo stop responding to these idiots.
All the best cards are going to Showtime because 1 fight was put there.
These are the same people who have said multiple times the PBC wouldn't last past 2 years.
They clearly don't know what they're talking about regarding this matter.

With the current level of popularity of boxing, the free TV model just doesn't work. The free TV model basically bankrupted PBC.

Dude the general quality has not been high at all. They have a few high profile fights a year, and a LOT of garbage.
You can argue they're no worse than Top Rank and Golden Boy in this regard, but they're certainly no better.

You guys keep going to this bankrupt thing.
Where is the proof?
Wasn't the proof that they were supposed to fold a year ago?

I thought we were talking about Garcia/Thurman caliber fights.

PBC's schedule doesnt look particularly ambitious, to put it lightly:
http://www.latimes.com/sports/boxing/la ... story.html
A day after Showtime formally announced seven fights featuring talent from boxing manager Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, PBC unveiled plans for a 2017 schedule that features three prime-time cards each on Fox and NBC, 25 shows on Fox Sports 1 and more on ESPN, Spike TV and Bounce TV.
The organization “will continue its mission in 2017 of making the sport available to the widest possible audience,” PBC spokesman Tim Smith said in a statement.
While specific fights were not mentioned beyond Tuesday’s Showtime list – which includes a welterweight unification bout between unbeaten Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia on March 4 and the Carl Frampton-Leo Santa Cruz featherweight-title rematch Jan. 28 – PBC promised “particular fireworks in the hottest and deepest divisions in the sport at 147, 154 and 126 pounds,” in its statement.
On Dec. 10, unbeaten PBC-linked super-welterweights Jermall Charlo and Julian Williams will meet at USC’s Galen Center as the co-main event with a featherweight title fight featuring World Boxing Assn. 126-pound champion Jesus Cuellar versus Southland product Abner Mares.
PBC said the first of the three Fox cards will air Feb. 25, with FS1 shows running February through October. The NBC prime-time bouts will begin Sept. 23.
ESPN, which was dealt an unimpressive lineup of bouts this summer, surprisingly returns to broadcast 12 fights beginning April 14 through August.

The showtime fights don't have the PBC branding.

The Showtime fight cards are listed on the PBC official website.

True, but they use Showtime production and the "PBC" brand is generally not referred to during the broadcast. This is because Showtime is actually paying for the broadcast and wants it to be "Showtime Championship Boxing" not "PBC Boxing".

By high quality I wasn't just talking about quality match ups but also about the actual quality of the bouts themselves.
Now not every single fight has been a barnburner but in general from the fights I've seen, the boxers seem to compete with a lot more passion than most others.
Appears to me like the PBC have said to the competitors that if you want to be on again you're going to have to step it up win lose or draw, for me it looks clear as day that the effort the PBC is putting in far goes beyond what everyone else is doing.
It's in no way a slur on their competitors but I think it paves the way for others to encourage their people to also step up their game.
Don't get me wrong not everything the PBC does is to my liking, ring walks can juice up a fight and make the overall tone of an event more exciting and I think the PBC is lacking in that field with their current model.
I was watching a rerun of Mayweather v Corrales the other day and started getting buzzed up when Diego Corrales did his ring walk, Naseem Hameds ringwalk v Kevin Kelley was fantastic and who can forget Wladimir Klitschko's against David Haye which was better than the fight itself.
I get a sense there are those in the boxing world that see the PBC as a serious threat to their own business and they should do because from a fans perspective the PBC have been a shot in the arm for people like us.
I think there are a lot fighters out there who sign a contract and once that's done don't give a care and have the attitude that they'll get much the same deal regardless of their performance, whereas the PBC may sign a contract and if you don't perform to an acceptable standard then you won't be back again.

I suspect this is confirmation bias. I really don't think a promoter has an effect on the "passion" a fighter fights with, or the quality of the fights outside of the matchmaking.

Fair enough, but whatever the "official brand" that is in use. Showtime is actually televising PBC fight cards and that cannot be disputed.

PBC needs to get a grip of the US HW scene.
Scott, Molina, Martin, Breazeale, Stiverne, Thompson, Jennings, Washington, Miller, Bryan, Briggs, Arreola, Mansour, Chambers.
Everybody loves the HWs and matching these guys up in co-mains of the PBC cards can only help to bum the ratings I believe.
Be interesting to see who came out on top of a tournament with this lot...

That it be......that it be........at least with Mansour, Jennings who I think these two can fight and Stiverne who Joshua knows he would get ktfo by.

In some certain circumstances I think they do.
