That's a very bold prediction, mate.

He only beat Froch by a couple of rounds although he did take his foot off the gas in the latter rounds.
Different fight mate, Kovalev looked awful last time out. Ward knows how high the stakes are. This is a legacy fight and that will be reflected in his performance. :TU:

Different fight mate:

Correct.

Kovalev is much more dangerous than Froch.

I didn't see the Chilumba (spelling) fight but heard he struggle although he still won.

But every minute of every round. Against a fighter with the skills, as well as punch, of Kovalev. Moving up a division. At the age of 32. I think he'll win quite comfortably but.......... you know..

Yeah I agree with that (in reference to CP's post) I do think Kovalev is the best fighter Ward has ever fought. Froch as good as he was and he was bloody good; he had slow feet and wasn't on the whole (bar the Groves knockout and a few of his earlier stoppages) a one punch type knockout artist. Kovalev isn't a one punch guy either but he's the nearest thing to that. He also has decent footwork and a better jab than Froch and probably better all round technique with that Russian schooling.

Kovalev is better than froch in any offensive category you care to name

A bigger puncher, maybe, but it's still a different fight.

I actually think your self-certainty is even less credible than riddicks, with those statements.

Chilemba made Kovalev look very ordinary in spots.

It's funny you say that CP, regarding Froch. I've seen people refer to Froch in the past as a pressure fighter- personally I wouldn't really categorise him as having been that. He would pressure at times like in the Bute fight or against Dirrell, etc, - in a lot of his fights however, he would also stand off and box. I wouldn't exactly class him as a boxer per se either. Im not really sure how to classify Froch's style.

And ward didn't exactly light up the boxing world against brand, or that Latino fighter

Ah, but ward knows the stakes so his lesser performances get explained and equivocated, whereas kovalev vs chilemba- a MUCH better fighter than brand- doesn't.

Kovalev struggled with Chilemba. That was in his last fight. Ward ain't Chilemba.

Are you picking Kovalev?

It depended who he was against,.as you've indicated, horses for courses. Lucky for Froch he had the basic versatility to box differently vs Abraham than Bute.

Having watched Kovalev- Chilemba again; it actually wasn't that bad of a performance. Don't get me wrong- Chilemba made him miss a fair bit but he wasn't getting off with much himself. It was a bit like watching Ortiz-Scott if Scott had landed a but more here and there. It was a pretty negative performance though overall.

Just take this bit of advice on board. Don't bet on Kovalev.

Does chin count as offence or defence? Both I suppose.

People are not saying Ward won't win, just questioning your 'every minute of every round' statement :D

Of course, it would be funny now if Ward won by KO in the first minute

Actually, if I.were betting, if ward is favorite which I think he is, then kovalev is the better bet.

 I think late stoppage or decision with Ward scoring 120.

Nope, you wont live it down. Being super insistent, and then wrong, should teach humility. Of course this is the internet and it seldom does.
