If you'd been doing timekeeping tonight it might've been done right, but it wasn't.

I don't think it would've made a difference in the fights anyway. Manny wasn't gonna score a KO in the next 8 seconds, Mosley Jr. wasn't gonna score a KO in the next 12 seconds...I'm not saying they were, but they deserved the chance to...just like every other fighter gets.

If the Rules don't matter, then why not just let everybody roid up, and swing away at the balls and headbutt and elbow and everything else. Hell let 'em kick too...nothing matters.

Great win by Horn and one i think he deserved , for me it was close but Jeff deserved it .. 2 things i did notice about the fight
1 -- The ref seemed very eager to stop it considering it was a world title and Jeff was winning up till that 1 rnd .

2--- I noticed the remaining seconds has well , would'nt mind watching again , with a stop watch in hand .

I went to the fight yesterday. I thought it was pretty close but couldn't really argue with the decision. 7-5 either way but I thought Horn was definitely the busier fighter. I thought he probably won 4 of the first 5 rounds. Good fight.

I have seen a copy of the judges' score cards and they struggled to score the fight just like we did. It was a close fight and a lot of it was open to interpretation.

Interestingly there were only 2 rounds that all 3 judges scored for Pacquiao. Rounds 3 and 9.

So I think the judges agree with you that Horn won 4 of the first 5 rounds. I do anyway.

I didn't think Horn would go anywhere near Pacman but it's good to be wrong. In saying that Manny was a long way from his best.

I just watched the allegedly broadcast and that round did not end early on their broadcast.
As for the fight itself I had it 114-113 Horn(10-8 for round 9).
Once again Teddy Atlas and Dan Rafael prove they can't objectively score a fight.
They were stoked about Manny being on their network for this fight and a few more then Horn came along and pissed on the parade.
Very close fight and I can see the case for Manny but this not a robbery, imo the right man got the decision and I think that same man wins the rematch.

I think Fwank W@rren is litigious and has threatened legal action against the forum before, hence the filter of his name and some of his business endeavors. Incidentally, across the various boxing forums I visit, there is a clear correlation between which broadcast people watched and what they thought happened (with each group accusing the other of having watched tainted coverage).

I usually watch fights on mute but didn't this time, and I'll go back and have another look. My impression watching it on ESPN that it was very close, with the fighters having success in opposing ways, and I ended up having Pac ahead by just a point (6-6 in rounds, but with a 10-8 9th). From Pac's body language, it struck me that he was expecting something easier and wasn't excited to be there once the going got tough; it certainly wasn't a relaxed sparring session like the Vargas bout.

So you and I were just one round apart. I had 7-5, you had 6-6 and that's all it took for us to have a different winner.

As for the correlation between network watched and how you scored I have watched boxing on espn for a long, long time and have had issues with the Teddy Atlas scorecard many times. Teddy isn't going to influence me.

Sure, there will be some people who are less influenced than others, and I imagine that most will argue that the commentary had no impact on them. The general difference in how people watching different broadcasts (most notably ESPN vs allegedly) viewed the fight is striking to me though, and marketing is a huge industry for a reason.

You're bending over backward to give Horn 7 rounds though. If you wanna say he won 6 and fought Manny to a draw, fair enough.

I'll even tell you which ones you could give him.

1,2,6,7,10 and 12.

Even by giving him the 2nd you'd be giving him a round that Manny did better in, but at least it was close.

I did indeed score all six of those for Horn and the third.
Three and four were both close and I split them.
