I just meant someone brought Wilder into the Vitali thread, so why not talk about it. If I understood you correctly, you were saying measuring Vitali against Wilder wasn’t relevant (soz if I read your message the wrong way).

I don't think measuring any h2h match up between fighters who never fought is relevant in a discussion about a fighters place in history. Unless, which ironically is fitting here, it's just too close to call. I don't think vitali or wilder warrant being on a hof ballot. Very interesting fight though. I favor vitali on his chin and awkwardness, he lacks power but is expect him to absorb some heavy shots and win on points. Be, by far, his greatest accomplishment.

I would pick Wilder over Vitali. He wouldn't have his precious size advantage over Deontay, and he would certainly get hit and hurt. And Deontay has a desire Vitali only encountered twice, versus Byrd and Lewis. The sight of a buzzed Vitali fleeing backwards, as he did when hurt versus Sanders, as Wilder almost falls over himself looping follow ups, would be an aesthetic atrocity, but also a physical comedy masterpiece.
What is this? Vitali would beat on Wider and TKO him. Two different classes of boxers here, VItali never had any problems on the score cards.
Best win? Sanders or Peter.

Highly doubtful vitali stops wilder with those pillows.

Why would you have any problems on the scorecards, when your best wins are Corrie Sanders and Samuel Peter?

To be fair, vitali vs wilder would have been fascinating, you could make a case for either.
Vitali proved his toughness vs Lewis, which he would obviously need against wilder.
but wilder can dent almost anyone, and I don’t think he would have too many problems finding Vitali.
I would lean wilder but it’s the sort of fight I wish I could have seen.

fighting for a couple for rounds with a doesn't prove your toughness. Hard to imagine many fighters quitting in that fight. Vitali certainly wasn't tough against Byrd.

Paul George played half a season with 2 shoulders that required surgery.

I believe vitali did show toughness vs lewis and its kinda weird to say otherwise, the man was taking huge shots and had his face falling off. I can easily imagine fighters quitting. Some guys get all panic-y just from a little cut.Though admittedly he bitched out vs Bryd
Its 1-1 in terms of showing toughness vs bitching out
I think Wilder would beat him like Lewis did, though later in the fight and with Vitali ahead at least until the last few

Vitali stopped may durable fighters. Purity, and Donald come to mind. He hurt big men easily such as Kirk Johnson and Peter. Wilder has a Herbie Hide level chin Just wait until a glancing blow spells his end.

He has a ton of heart. Vitality wasn't a banger, nowhere near a puncher of wilders level. I'd pick him on volume

Your first example was stopped on a little cut. He wasn't hurt or knocked down at all. Watch the fights before commenting!
So you only have Larry Donald as an example, and he was 35 or 36!
