You know what you were doing.

"Insanely overrated." You were fishing for a reaction from me. Don't take a cliché term so personally.
Foster is the first one I think of because he is the first LHW who I watched. He was a beautiful and extremely dangerous fighter. He was a damned good boxer and his power makes Krushedner's pale. He had a killer instinct similar to The Hitman and Hitman Jr.
Your Ahumada reference is totally divisive since I am certain that you are aware that it was his 14th or 15th defense, he was well past prime for those days and he essentially retired after that fight to return a year later for a final run in his late 30's. Foster destroyed his peers of the time. He wiped out what was placed in front of him.
Times were different. There were no SMW or Cruiser divisions. Bob Foster was an absolute demolision man at LHW. He deserves the moniker of Krusher far more than the current version.
I've had that opinion of Foster since long before I ever encountered you online. I don't fish for reactions, I rarely even engage in arguments on here anymore. No bullshit, that's exactly how I feel about Foster. Bob, Dempsey, Chavez & Ricardo Lopez are probably my Mount Rushmore for overrated.

Fair enough. I disagree on Foster.

No worries. He was certainly capable of living up to those ratings, his resume is lacking imo.

Stylistically, Ward/Foster is very intriguing. I think Ward takes away that jab and is successful smothering him. That doesn't mean a left hook can't turn out his lights. I understand the difference with growing up watching a fighter, that's when you have real emotions involved. He was just a tad before me. Kovalev showed me a good bit of bitch in that rematch and he's one of my favorite current guys. Strange thing with that Krusher moniker is that he's an outstanding boxer with big power, but a bit sissy with the tough stuff. He'd be in huge trouble against Qawi or Galindez.

Oh yeah, Krushedner would be in deep with the great combo body punchers. Foster's bodywork is underrated thanks to his truly devastating power. He went to the body very well. His boxing skills were very good. He parried well with gloves arms and shoulders. His footwork was subtle but it owned the middle of the ring. His jab was absolutely lethal and lightning fast. He had a good right hand but his lefthook nearly took a dozen or more mens' heads clean off.
He was a fearsome warrior in the ring, who would be at the top in any era. I don't think that SOGgy could avoid getting detonated by Foster, and Krushedner's only chance would be to catch him flush early. Foster's bodywork alone would make him literally cry like a baby.

A decent breakdown of Bob Foster's skills v Quarry 36-0.

Get the fornicate outta here! One of my favorite bands of yesteryear that I never got to see live.
My first and favorite Maiden album is Somewhere in Time. Wasted Years is probably my favorite song from that album.

I saw them open up for Judas Priest almost 35 years ago. In the Uber now with a lady friend I flew in from MD. I have to admit I don't know a few songs from their slight set list, but Wasted Years is one of them. Children of the damned is the show stopper!

The drummer Nicko McBrain owns a restaurant in Florida called Rock N Roll Ribs. I didn't see him when I was there.

WTF dude. Why did you not see him???
Where in Florida? That's my home state.
Nvm. Just looked it up and saw it was in Coconut Creek. Home of American Top Team. About 3 hours from my parents house.

I talked to the staff. He comes in sometimes, but he's busy with other things. I did not like the food by the way, but it has been a few years since I've been there. To be honest, I am surprised it is still in business. It is near American Top Team. His restaurant is in the nearby city of Coral Springs. ATT is in Coconut Creek as you mentioned.

I was thinking the same thing. The '70s and '80s had real American talent. And it's a big drop in ability from previous P4P No. 1 Mayweather to current (according to Ring Magazine) P4P No. 1 Andre Ward.
I've always rooted against Ward in every fight but even I have to sit back and appreciate what the guy just did. The guy vacated his SM titles and jumped up in weight to take on, arguably, the best light heavyweight anyone has ever seen and knocked him out. I hated the stoppage but in my mind, I know that fight was over and it just saved Kovalev a dangerous beat down because Ward had plenty more to give and was in attack mode. In my mind, it was a KO. This is a boxing accomplishment that is unparalleled to me as i can't think of another boxer that did something like this at this high a level of a fight. It's pretty special.
But Ward being #1 P4P is not good for boxing because he's not active enough. Ward will be #1 for a year or 2 tops. Fans just seem to want to take something away from Ward so he won't get much time to sit idle at the top.
Wait wait wait... did you really mean the best lightheavy anyone has ever seen?
I said that Ward went up in weight to take on arguably the best light heavyweight. I'm referring to Kovalev being the best light heavy, not Ward. Prior to the losses to Ward, there was talk that Kovalev was that good. Definitely the best that I've ever seen in over 35 years of watching the sport. He was at least in the conversation for top 3 of all time. It's never been a great division anyway.

Im not sure I like his chances vs Marvin either, Johnsons gas tank was probably little better than Kovs but him banging that body would soon wear on Kov, I mean shit no way Ward makes a pussy of Marvin like that does he?

I'll give you another guy, Conteh could box with Kovalev fine but he'd take him down to the woodshed with the head butts and low stuff Conteh was like Ward in that way a skilled guy who went medieval with it

I understood. Only someone who has not been following boxing long would think that Kov would be in the running as the best light heavy anyone has ever seen.
Roy Jones would have wiped the floor with him. Plus a few others at LH.
