They should put Sadam Ali in there with Jeff Horn :OhYes:

Ali was buckling Cotto with temple shots. I don't remember Canelo hurting Cotto as much as Ali.
True.

I don’t know about that. Gingerhead landed solid shots.

He did, but they were the kinda punches that Cotto might've seen coming...at least before the moment of impact. Ali kept catching him with a lot of stuff that just kinda blindsided him. Those kinda shots hurt ya worse.

I think Cotto is just done. Ali deserves serious credit though. I look forward to seeing him in the ring again.

Credit to Ali, but nobody is savoring to see him again. He doesn't even get a ton of N.Y. support.

People now know who he is. It’s the wwe effect. This is business marketing 101.

I really hope that you're wrong, but your logic is good. And you called it.

Liam Smith is his mandatory. Whether is can milk a voluntary.. Who knows.

It's because they were temple shots. I remember long ago, relatively light hitting Demarcus Corley put Cotto and Mayweather on queer St with well placed temple shots.

With a temple shot, it doesn't really matter how good a fighter's chin is, or really even how powerful the delivery, so much. It's about placement and the receiver's ability to maintain his equilibrium.

Not sure. FW pretty much owns the WBO so unlikely. Possibly if smith gets a lot of step aside money.

People do know who he is from tv appearances and the AM's. I've never heard anyone in N.Y. say "I can't wait to see Ali in the ring" or looking forward to any of his fights. Not that he isn't a god fighter, he's just nothing great. Even with the Cotto win. He's not a PPV star. He's not a future one. He's not an A side, headlining fighter for a major card. He's not a future one.

I have never liked the matches where the "young lion" beats an old fading star.

It is easy to see who would have won if it was prime vs prime. So the young guy won just because the other one is only shadow of the boxer he once was.

Frustrating stuff
