Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech at some level, but sports stars have to be careful what they say because they are role models. There are some quite frightening people out there who try to engage with sports stars in ways that can be quite different from the normal fan.

I'm not saying this guy is a superstar and will have a great deal of boxing fans that follow him or look upto him but there will be 'some'

If someone like David Beckham for example said this kid of stuff for one thing it would be in every newspaper and every news channel in the UK. So sports stars have to be careful what they say and how they conduct themselves. I'm pretty sure when you sign a contract with any company, be it the BBBoC or Tesco there will be a policy regarding 'whats expected of you as an employee'

If an employee of Tesco is Tweeting on a night time out of works time 'Old lady slipped in isle 3 today, #mandown, hope she dies' or 'man tied is dog up outside while shopping today, pissing down with rain, hope he comes out in a wheelchair'

While is is out of works time it makes on difference he is not conducting himself as his employer would want. He would be suspended and possibly fired. (What the policy he signed told him not to do)

Ive seen it within my company. Remember when it was the ice bucket challenge a few years ago? Well a nurse, who is a professional person, signed a policy informing her of what the NHS expect of her many years ago, and have to sign it on a yearly basis (possibly no one reads it before signing). This lass innocently went on a weekend break. While away did the ice bucket challenge, nothing flash, no swear words or anything, but did it in a sexy funny way in a bikini, again nothing which what I would have thought was fireable or even suspendable. So all her friends shared it on Facebook and it soon got back to her manager. She was hauled in, not only in front of her managers manager but the board, and people who issue nurses their yearly pin.

This lass, who is a effing good nurse almost lost her job, I dare say being a damn good nurse is what held her onto it.

So even a simple 'prank' if you like was bringing her role into disrepute.

This boxer should not be permanently banned. But as im sure his policy states as such he should be suspended and brought in, in front of the men who 'employ him', the BBBoC and give a reason why he is saying these things against company policy.

In my opinion he should be treated as such for breaking policy rules, its as simple as that.
Well, when Mike Tyson said he wanted to eat Lewis his children in the name of Allah after he ate someone's ear off even before it wasn't much of a problem was it?
When Wilder smashed a girl up, drove around with weed, put a doll that was supposed to symbol Duhaupas on fire, even shot a doll that was supposed to symbol Szpilka, but that vid later got removed, he smashed up a troll, calling all the reasonable boxer that called him out drugs users without evidence and even with evidence that shows the opposite of it it wasn't a problem. When David Haye said he would make sure Bellew ended in hospital it wasn't a problem right? Or even when he was wearing a shirt with Klitschko his head amputated from his body it wasn't a problem right? Or if he sticks a glass in someone's face, no problem right? Or when he offers a fight to someone if that someone shows a good performance on his undercard for free and in the end fight a cruiserweight instead? And actually lose that fight?
When Chisora smashed Klitschko in his face without gloves just before the match, no problem right?

But now, all of a sudden, when this guy says that "there are some guys out there who are hoping that he will die because of boxing"... They just ban him from the sport?
Did he shout? Did he use offensive words? Was he getting personal? Was he threatening someone? Did he lie?

Nope, none of it, they appearantly just don't want him in the ring for whatever reason and this is their excuse.
Its irreverent how other people see his tweets, some find him offensive some (you) dont. Thats not the issue ive made.

I'm purely going on policy.

It's the other way around, he says that there are others out there that want him to be death. Not I want others death, others want me death.
That's like a police officer saying, I got a criminal, now he wants me death.
Not I got a criminal, I want the criminal death.
It's like that Tesco girl saying, the customer said he thought the bill was too high, now he wants me death.

And this is his way of making money, boxing, that's just taken away from him.
There are football players out there who go to bed with their teammates wife, no problem.

If this is the way they work with boxers, then it's obvious that beïng the champ in boxing is nothing but bullshit. It has nothing to do with beïng a good boxer or a bad one, you're just the chosen one by some kind of manager, nothing less, nothing more.
If a manager brings you in problems because you're wearing a bikini in your private life then he should be fired himself. It's absolutely immoral to do something like that, in court he sure had absolutely nothing to stand on.
Again its irrelevant

however some people may think the things that were said regarding Gerald McLellan were quite offensive too. I hate dog fighting and think that sellotaping a dogs mouth together is truly horrific, however, im not going to go on a public forum and suggest that a person deserves what hes got later in life.

I'm sorry, but if you break company policy, and remember you have signed a contract to state you agree with the policy then you have to abide by the rules.

I know all this policy crap is like jobsworth stuff but you agree to it when you join the club.

I've always said that no matter how good you are, you'll never win the F1 world title driving a Minardi, you'll never win the Premier League playing for Southampton and you'll never hit the top in boxing without the right connections.

I really wonder about this case. Did they really have a policy that said "you're not allowed to do an ice bucket challenge in your bikini in your free time"? I'm highly surprised about it, but it shows me all over again what a kind of idiots many managers often are. I'm also surprised that she forgot she signed something like that, I would have definetly remembered it.
This is why people get suspended.

Once suspended you then get called and and have to explain your actions, the ice bucket example went a little further but nothing to suggest there was anything wrong, but you have to look at the profession and how it may look to people in higher authority. Its all about conduct. While you arent at work it does not mean you can go around pissing about and playing the fool. Of course if you work in 'Sid's Caf' he most likely isnt going to give a flying shite where you get your tits out and how many prozzies you screw.

But, in professional public service roles, and many very big established companies you have to be careful how you conduct yourself.

Lets take another example, this didnt happen ive made it up, but an off duty copper for example while sat at home on the gin Tweets 'Spaced out on moon dust' could mean anything but how would his bosses see a tweet like that? Also being a copper would it have been a wise move in the first place to even tweet such a comment?

Well, I'm not an American myself, but if I look who are the most powerfull people over there (cheater Bush, cheater Trump, Weed smoker Obama), it doesn't seem to be much of a problem is it?
The UK is not America. This issue we are discussing is centred in the UK so what happens in the States has no baring on it.

Oké, well I guess the people in the UK should focus more on their real problems (with the islam for example). For my personal opinion, if a girl wants to do the ice bucket challenge in her bikini, then she may do that. Someone else has the right to dislike it, but not to fire her because of it. Stop hiring her is btw something else. Not that you suggested that, but as a boss I should be allowed to chose who I employ and who not, for any reason I decide myself. Or well, that's my opinion.
You as a boss are allowed to employ who you feel. You as boss set out your terms and conditions to each employee. Providing you stick to employement law you have the right to say how your business is run. I would also hope you set out terms on how you want your employees to act.

Islam has nothing to do with all this. Not even tbe bikini ice challenge. You do not know the whole story, ive given you the basic information that you need to know on a public forum.

We live by rules and regulations in every walk of life. Just abide by them but if you want to break them, do it in private.
