Hmmm, I do wonder sometimes. I would have bought far more PPVs if they were £10 rather than £20. I’m sure there’s quite a few events which would have actually netted more money if they’d been priced more sensibly.

Surely, if PPV prices were lower, more people would buy. The revenue might be same tbf, but more people would then enjoy it.

I'm like what you said, if I could pay £10 for a Joshua-Parker or even Whyte-Parker, then I would buy it instead of streaming it. at £20, it's a definite no.

He doesn't. But he's already said it's his last fight.
A loss to Usyk will not hurt him and he's quids in. A win, he'll be down in record books.

I'm not sure how anyone can say he didn't want it when he's literally just taken it. Would he be doing this if it wasn't his last fight? Maybe. Maybe not. But he's openly said he'd fight Usyk for all the belts and now he's fighting Usyk for all the belts. He clearly wants this fight.

although tbf, as much as ppl can say bellew has that x factor and overcomes the odds, they can also say that usyk always so far proves the odds right and goes in and beats guys in there own backyard...russia, latvia, germany, poland, usa.....can he make it uk too?

Me and all, I’m really chuffed about this one. I was hoping this fight would come off. That’s one good thing about fast car, he normally delivers the big fights.

Quite possibly, I‘ve just seen an interview with Tony. He basically said the same so, says he, he has to stop Usyk. That’s part of what makes me lean towards him, that bloodymindedness. I can see Usyk doing the business (but still say Bellew). I don’t agree it’s an easy fight for either of them.

id say bellew is a better puncher, although usyk defo a better skilled boxer , has stamina for days, and much much fresher then david haye was

He's better than David Haye EVER was. Let alone the shell of him that Tony beat. Tony may well be the bigger puncher of the two, but I don't think he's as big a puncher as Gassiev, and Usyk handled him just fine.

I like Tony, and would like to see him make a competitive fight of it, but I don't give him much of a shot. Nevertheless it's another big name for Usyk to conquer.

After this, other than maybe Lebedev I don't see any reason why Usyk shouldn't just make the jump to Heavyweight. He's clearly proven he's the boss at Cruiserweight, and with a win over Bellew and Lebedev he will have essentially cleaned out the division.

Unless some want to see him fight Dorticos I guess, but I don't see why he'd bother with that when he's got bigger fish to fry, and bigger checks to cash.

true, although i do think bellews a bit less predictable and one paced in his offense then gassiev, even though i think gassiev would prob be too strong for him head to head. like, i can see bellew surprising usyk with a counter shot and being more spontaneous more so then gass did. belllew imo may be more of a briedes then a gassiev in term of the problems he can cause usyk, although i do expect usyk to beat bellew easier then he beat briedies

but i do think its a very good fight and i dont completely rule bellew out even though it seems usyk should win

I would agree that it is beyond plausible that Bellew could win.
He obviously can't win a world title, headline a PPV or beat David Haye so whilst one would expect Usyk to win without breaking a sweat, Bellew may have yet another stroke of good fortune.

I'll bet any of you gentlemen £1,000 that Usyk wins. No way Bellew can win this.

can anyone help me with past odds for bellew fights. lots of talk about how he always proves everyone wrong etc, so i want to take a look at what the odds actually were

3 wins as dog, 2 losses as dog, 1 time failed to win as favoyrite:

big underdog: vs haye and vs steve (beat one of them and lost to one of them)

moderate underdog: makabu (won)

small underdog: clev 1 (lost)

favourite: all other fights (all wins except chilemba 1)

ive seen some ppl say he was underdog vs clev in the rematch, but from a quick search most odds i found had bellew as a slight favourite. tbf, as a cruiser is 3-0 as dog, but then again usyk is 15-0 as fav.

He was about 5/1 in first fight with Haye. About 9/4-5/2 2nd fight. He was about 6/4 in Makubu fight. About as an underdog as Canelo is tonight. Bellew Clev 2 was pretty 50/50 fight with either one 5/6-10/11 with some bookies and flip flopping favs on Betfair at times.

I see this as nothing less than marketing for Usyk. He could use a stoppage win too and the with the gulf in class being so wide and the natural size advantage I expect Usyk to get it and set up his ancipated run at HW with Hearn cultivating him into an AJ opponent for 2019/2020.

Building the AJ fight, makes sense. It’ll be Whyte/Chisora after Bellew.

It’ll be good to see Uysk over here for a bit.
