What great 160 pounders in their prime has Hopkins beat ? Joppy ?
The thread is about GGG, but for the record, Hopkins' resume is vastly superior than the Kazakh's.
I previously asked numerous questions that you refused to answer, so I'm not obliged to respond to yours.
I've asked a relevant question and you are not able to come with a damn straight answer about what top-notch natural 160 pounders has Hopkins beaten when he was a mw !
Also, what natural SFW's did Lomachenko beat when he was at 130 pounds?

GGG is the best Middleweight that i've witnessed personally. In my book, he's still undefeated and if your book doesn't read that way then go screw. All of these idiots saying that GGG isn't an all time great are the same idiots that could talk about Povetkin every single day for some reason. It's the same pack of goons saying the same garbage. If you can't realize the greatness that GGG has brought to the sport then you don't deserve to comment on the historical significance of anything in regards to boxing.
Ahhh, so you've never seen hauler fight. That makes sense. He would have boxed gggs ears off giving up a good bit of weight.
If you mean Hagler then yes I have. As I’ve been watching boxing for almost 40 years. Hagler vs GGG would have been an amazing fight but I’d never say that Hagler would win. No way. GGG has a better chin and jab. That jab would ruin Hagler and I think it would be an unanimous 12 round decision for GGG.
For me Golovkin and Hagler had much in common. Golovkin is our era's Hagler, and just like Hagler will only be truly appreciated once he's gone.
Both were pressing fighters, they could box beautifully but usually preferred to attack, dismantle and destroy.
Both had superhuman chins. Hearns hit Hagler with everything and even ended up breaking his hand before he could break Marvin. There was some talk that Hagler had once been dropped, but that's all it was.
Both were seen as outsiders and had to climb to the top the hardest way possible. You'd never now believe how hard it was for Hagler to get any credit during his career.
If they had any weakness you could argue that both lacked the mercurial speed of a SRL, but so did everyone else!
Finally, both of these outstanding champions got cheated in Las Vegas by the so-called A sides, GGG twice. Marvin, so disgusted with the system that he felt was always working against him had finally seen enough and decided to walk away for good.

Hagler did not get cheated, that decision was correct.

ggg had a similar career in accomplishment to mikkel kessler
and hagler was just levels above ggg in ability and accomplishment. watch hagler---its obvious were talking about a different level of fighter. much more smooth and skillful, faster and more mobile, and with excellent stamina, iron chin, and of course plenty of dog in him. although i agree that he wasnt robbed vs leonard

Kessler was beten 3 times, even though Ward should've been DQ'ed. Still 2 clear losses. Golovkin is unbeaten in my book.

ggg has never beaten anyone as good as the guys who beat kessler. and remember kess did beat froch (when imo they were both at primes,...kess faded more for the fight a few years later)
the only guys who beat kess that kess never beat, ward and calzaghe, were absolute top notch, special fighters. better at smw then canelo is at mw

Walters was a featherweight, which means he doesn't count at all, apparently.

how do we think oscar shouldve been rated as a mw win? i think he was a great fighter , but simply not at mw, where in his only other showing and in his 5th divison i felt he got a gift vs felly sturm. so as part of his mw resume , i rate hopkins beating de la hoya as no better then if hed beaten sturm at that time. i defo think at mw he had moved really beyond his effectivness point and do not think at all hed somehow legit grown into a mw
of course, i think oscar even as a mw wouldve had little problem with guys like curt and willie. prob beats lem and murray etc too.

ya, so to me ggg is a similar fighter to guys like dariusz and kessler. although i think maybe at his best he was better then them, but he never fought a good enough opponent or did convingly enough vs his best opponents to prove it
if we are talking whether hes a very good fighter for his time who can get into the hall of fame, i think so, but to me there just isnt enough to say hes a genuine atg

yeah GGG-Kessler is a pretty interesting comparison that I hand't really thought of- Kessler's best win (Froch) a good notch above any win GGG actually has on the cards, I'd say? and then a fairly similar list of mostly c-level fighters after that.

Sturm above those guys, 23 world title fights with 16 being wins and 2 drawn, not bad stats at all

Walters was a bit over rated based on beating q undersized and shop worn Donaire. He was never that good, a solid fighter and ok champion bit never belonged on the top of P4P list like he was for a short period.

I disagree with you completely but we all have our favorites and you picked a good one. I've seen them all and i've never seen anyone EVER that I could say "He'd definitely beat GGG". Not one of them. No one has beaten GGG still and everyone knows it. He's been a great champion and great for the sport.

I'm more of a ggg fan than I was of hagler. I'm a hearns and Duran fan. I thought canelo won the rematch. There are no certainties in boxing, but stylistically Marvin would be a significant favorite.

Well you are in a lopsided minority in ur opinion of the rematch so that doesn’t exactly help your case when predicting imaginary battles between legends of different eras.
I’m obviously an admirer of GGG and his greatness but I can actually say that I was less sure about GGG beating Jacobs than I was with either of his fights with Canelo. In an honest arena, there’s no way GGG loses one of the 6 scorecards in total. With Jacobs, even with knockdown, Jacobs had moments that were clearly his rounds. I can’t say that 1 of those 24 rounds with Canelo was clearly Canelo’s. Oh what’s the use? You don’t really know how to score s fight so why am I wasting time?
