Is that the club Taylor was in? Was he mouthing off at Henry? On the street, I'm pretty sure Henry would have him in some kind of BJJ hold sharpish, he's very slick with submissions.

There are smaller men who can hit very hard and can beat bigger men, there are also big men who are very quick and fit who would be hard for a smaller man to take down however good he is - not every big man is a lumbering oaf - some aren't and would present a big problem - what this means of course is that fighting and taking on people in a street environment is Russian Roulette whoever you are - big or small - and really best avoided. Of course, Taylor is a world class fighter but he needs to think about how he is living his life at the moment - there are so many potential catastrophes that can happen if you're out drunk, charlied off your box and not being the world's most reasonable person - I can imagine there are many fellas out there would would love to put the boot into Taylor alongside his mates - and it usually comes with a smile and 'Hey, howyadoin? Saw you on telly beating that Yank' then there's a ruffle of the hair or a too enthusiastic a backslap and it's on then... if they came with growls then it would be easier to avoid but it usually isn't the case.

Re: Michael Hunter - I never took to how he revelled in his 'I beat up the bouncers of Hartlepool, me' crap - I always thought it showed him in a bad light. I know Hartlepool is a very tough town but most guys on the doors in these towns are just normal handy lads with families earning a few quid at night - do you think Michael Hunter would have 'terrorised' the bouncers of the West End of London? Or lets go world class with this and terrorise the bouncers of Sydney or Auckland where they are usually Samoan, Tongans and Maoris?

No - he wouldn't have done, he wouldn't have attempted it and we all know it. :TU:

No I doubt it in fact I’d imagine they were friendly. Danny let us all in the other night right past 100 odd folk in queue, he’s a sound guy. Taylor’s just been steaming, like 90% of folk at that time of night in that part of town and the bouncers have shat themselves and called the cops.

Taylor comes from a martial background. I don’t know why you keep insisting everyone on that door would batter him in the street. It’s very naive man 🙄

Sounds like Dalton from Road House

i agree with pretty much all of this, although in my Experience / town you if the Bouncer was a boxer/ MMA guy or some big lump from the gym then generally you would know each other from the Boxing Circuit or whatever and this thing wouldn't occur. im guessing the same with Taylor situation , Taylor would probably know that this guy wasnt anything and would have very much fancied his chances of knocking him out . maybe the whole thing has been blown out of proportion also .

anyway hopefully its a one off at least while his Boxing career is in full throttle but hes from Edinburgh so they can be quite mouthy and lairy :)

Once i put a belly pad on and invited him to take his best kick , i wanted to see how hard it was , he lined me up let go with a kick and litery lifted me off the floor , tell you if i did'nt have the belly pad on it would of been broken ribs for sure ... I'm not so sure many big 17 stone doorman would stand up to him , kicking or not , UNLESS they were trained fighters themselves ,, and guess what he was'nt even world level .
Taylors a world champ for fook sake ,, small or not he's taking a liberty picking on a guy just trying to do a job

So i actually rang him last night and said , remember the night you broke that fellas leg , he said which one ,, I knew of two , but turns out , he actually done it 3 times , It was his speciality really , line them up and kick the knee turns out the last time the fella tried to sue him and the pub , so he gave away bouncing that was a lot of years ago though,, Probably best he did , if you know your gonna do that damage you should'nt be doing it .

It was more a case of Micky and his entourage being a nuisance in the bars, not so much fighting but being very boisterous.
And factor in that most of the doors in Hartlepool are run by Dave Garside who was Hunters manager pretty much made Micky untouchable in town

Anyone who thinks they're mad cos they have a line needs a look at theirself in the mirror. Cringey

Only in the Uk do people think they're mad cos they do it. It's just a stimulant that keeps you awake. Don't think you're mad for having a coffee but do if you do a line

Most people who do it need to do it for confidence otherwise they'd just stand on a night out scared of their shadow. Most need a line to chat a girl up

Good explanation thanks, I had forgotten about big Garside. He seemed to do very well after boxing
