I was just thinking of that.
Didn’t even seem to hit him that hard but absolutely had him out cold for like 2 minutes.

118-110 Briedis for me, best I've seen him, he boxed a smart fight was composed, looked comfortable on the back foot, sprang his attacks, with the jabs dropped the right hand over and threw some nice bursts, Dorticos looked flat, did land some ok punches but never sustained any attacks and looked like he had a foothold in the fight, Briedis never held his feet and stayed in the pocket too long, he'd launch an attack then he'd be right out of range again before Dorticos could counter

There was some close rounds but i cant see how one judge had it all even l, not an exciting fight by any stretch but a great performance by Briedis

Briedis was very good last night but is moving up to Heavyweight, really would add to the argument of a Super Cruiserweight division.

Briedis vs Gassiev is a fight I would like to see.

It is probably the only big fight that the two WBSS didn't throw up.

It would be a great first title fight at the new super cruiser division.

Nah, the right hand was a meaty looking dig and was the one that knocked Charr out. The left that followed it was tamer but because it was on the side of the camera a lot of people thought that was the shot that did it.

Just watched it again, forgot how satisfying it was (Charr is a pr*ck, which makes it more enjoyable)

It's a shame the follow up hook was only a cuffing blow, if it had a bit more spite on it Charr would have landed in the front row.

Briedis should step up and face Gassiev in a one of his first HW fights.

Briedis was fantastic last night.
Accurate and strong. Really really impressed me.
We’ve been blessed to have Usyk, Gassiev and Briedis the last few years.
He’s no spring chicken. I’d be happy to have two years of him taking on number one challengers in Riga.

Can he do it after all? He's pretty mobile and has great one-twos, but nothing more really. A one-dimensional fighter.

How? Where would you make super cruisr? 220lb? You’ll still end up with 235lb guys cutting to it, so he would still be too small. So then heavy just becomes 235 plus? That’s just a thinner, weaker, more boring division.

Cruiser is his div, he is moving up to have a crack at heavy, because that’s where the cash is. So super cruiser would do nothing for him, cause the money will always be in heavyweight..

Briedis arrived back at Latvia

“It feels fantastic to have won the Muhammad Ali Trophy, it feels like a dream,” said Briedis. “Me, my team, my family have been waiting for such a long time for the trophy. Thank God we did it, and I am really happy about it.”

“I was down after the Usyk-fight,”
said Briedis. "Usyk was better that night, and it is what it is."

“But looking back I can see that a lot of things around me and in my team have changed. And everything has gone better since that fight. I really don’t know if I would have won that night if my career would have advanced the way it has.”

“In the first rounds I felt how dangerous Dorticos is, but I got used to his style, and in the later rounds we didn’t risk too much, we just boxed what we had prepared. I’m very satisfied with my performance.”

“I hope I produced a fight for the Latvian fans to be proud of me. The fans couldn’t be at the arena, but at least through TV I hopefully brought them emotions.”

“It’s a shame I could not share my feelings with my fans and with the people who believed in me, who prayed for me and who sent me very energetic and strong messages. But it feels amazing to show the fans that the trophy is finally in Riga after such a long journey.”

“I am considering a move to heavyweight,”
said Briedis. “But right now I will rest a bit before I make any decisions.”

UFC weight divisions are way more sensible that boxing's and should be adopted. Boxing won't change but it would be better if it did.

Why were the fans allowed into the Burton fight, then?

Because the Burton fight was in Latvia and it’s allowed.

Briedis Fight was Germany where it’s not.
