Not really sure what the guy was trying to say with this thread, but he basically just makes himself look silly.
Was watching some Fury comedy and I never saw the Klitschko-Fury 2 press conference but man he truly made Wlad feel terrible. "If that's all a professional can do, if he cant beat a fat man, practicing for 40 years, then God help us all.", Wlad - "Shame on me.". I bet he was hating himself. I don't think any version of Wlad could handle Fury, simply from the mental game.

The 1st Wilder fight had dramatic moments, but was mostly dull.

Fair enough. I found Furys performance in the first Wilder fight enjoyable. I liked seeing him slip punches, especially against such a dangerous puncher, I appreciate not everyone would like that.

Wilder made for a much more interesting opponent than Wlad.
Too cautious the 1st time around, but at least he tried to win.

I’m not expecting to covert you and it’s not a great fight, no question. I watched the gloves and off and then the fight, was very interesting to see play out again. Fury I thought really demonstrated a lot of skill, more than people thought at the time but no, it was not a schooling level performance however clearly a competent and intelligent boxer. Herky jerky and a decent jab and great control of distance, that’s what undid Wlad.

I don't mind seeing good defense either. But I'd rather watch Willie Pep vs Saddler (Circa 1949) and see a master at work.

I don't mind seeing good defense either. But I'd rather watch Willie Pep vs Saddler (Circa 1949) and see a master at work.
Or basically any Pernell Whitaker fight in his prime.

Love Sweet pea, one of my five favs of all time, but I was going for arguably the greatest single fight performance of pure boxing I've ever seen.

Whitaker was better than pep. His lone win against was impressive. I'll give you that. Sandy was an incredibly dirty fighter. Maybe the dirtiest.

Yes. Sweet Pea is higher on the ATG list by a lot. Pep's performance vs Saddler in that fight was incredible, especially considering that Pep couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag.

Definitely the dirtiest who still enjoys a reputation as a truly great fighter. He's often considered one of THE best Featherweights of all time, but yeah he was notoriously dirty.
Fritzie Zivic, Al "Bummy Davis" might be the dirtiest.
It seems like George "KO" Chaney was DQ'd numerous times too, and it would've taken a lot to get DQ'd in his day. So that's saying something.

Dqs were more common. They would disqualify fighters for lack of effort.
