I remember Rhino winding you up with a thread called ‘Enzo Maccarinelli has no chin’
And then just a phototherapy of Enzo with his chin airbrushed out.
Who was Enzo’s stalker? Flint Island?

Yes he did work for various promoters, was not a licence holder, enjoyed his boxing, I 1st met him when we was in aldershot with Julius Francis training for Tyson fight, then Frank allowed him to follow us to Manchester, frank liked him, gave him some driving wotk, till he had a car crash with boxers inside, but he is a nice guy, Loved to think he was security, we had some laughs, GIVE HIM CREDIT!!
Reasonably accurate Eric 😉

The car crash was one sunday when I had to take Victor Baranov to Heathrow but only got as far as Holloway.

That was a week before Lennox v Botha.

Plenty happened after that ... 20 years & plenty of fantastic memories
want to explain the CAR SMASH FOR OTHERS TO KNOW?

I can explain the car smash Eric.

Spud, myself and Mark Massow were all doing a bit of driving/dogsbody work for the big Lewis v Botha show at the London arena, we were working for Frank Maloney and Panos and Athos from Panix Promotions. If i remember rightly there was also another show during that week (Thu 13 July at Beth Green - Tontch Tonchev, Kandelaki, Arslan, Smith, Dunne, Harry senior) so we were busy lads flitting back to heathrow etc then dropping boxers off at canary Wharf 4 seasons etc...also running boxers to pressers and to Lennox lewis boxing college in Hackney... (Botha, Boom Boom Johnson, Both Klitschkos, Scott Harrisson, Monte Barrett, Clinton Woods, Noel Wilders, Adrian Stone etc etc)

Spud never even had a car in real life at that time so it was a recipe for disaster for him to be picking up the fighters in a few vehicles including a stretch volvo panix promotions Limo. Luckily on the day of the accident Spud was not in the Limo.

Spud had Victor Barinov (had fought on 7 July 2000 and was heading back to airport) in the car when he decided to get his pedals muddled up and rolled the vehicle over some railings at a Holloway corner. Victor was shaken but not stirred......Spud was in the doghouse with Panos and Athos. Frank laughed his fekkin head off......as we all did.

My little story from that week was that I picked both Klitchkos up from a flight from Germany to Heathrow. i was so excited I forgot where I had parked the car and walked with them from floor to floor in the Heathrow 'short stay' looking for the vehicle. I got there in the end.

They were nice guys and good banter. making comments about the London totty and i remember a bit of particular verbal aimed at a ginger lass carrying a few extra kilos. Vitali (who shotgunned the front seat ahead of his younger bro)was chatting to me about his fight with Herbie Hide etc and meanwhile Wladimir was complaining that he needed a piss. I remember the lack of legroom on the plane for the giants was also a discussed issue.

As for Spud’s disdain, it must stem from Groves refusing to autograph his scrapbook ;-). Like David Haye, in public Groves is very personable. But behind closed doors both got very big for their boots and were prone to petulance. In other words, treating some people like poo.

Good to see you back on the forum Spudly, you pudendum.

Go on then, do tell us Eric. You know the answer, so get your 2 mins of fame and attempt to convince us that you’re still relevant in Boxing. The same Paul
King who got sent down for raping 2 prostitutes and a teenage girl and received three life sentences in 2007.

Lockdown was meant for people like you, Eric. Sparing us normally tolerant pudenda from hearing the same old, me, me, me stories that you’ve spouted for fornicating years in an attempt to stay relevant.

I always thought you were an arrogant, past it tape recorder. Didn’t realise you were a sick, ignorant pudendum as well.

True true. But over the years he has gleefully mentioned Spud getting done by Paul King on numerous occasions which is a bit snidey given King being a violent bully and Spud being harmless enough, Lightsoot has always been quick off the mark with a strongly worded post though.

A lot of names from the Eastsideboxing days good to see. :yay: :yay: :yay: David Haye vs Chris Aston vs Eastsideboxing forum classic :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: :KO:

Spud harmless and helped me out. when I first started. He's just trying like many others, to work in boxing trying to get a gig in boxing (often working for nothing) Boxing full of characters some nice others are not. I wish him well during his struggles.
