You'd watch a fight again & again if it was given 4/5 stars....only someone who was into self-harm would watch Yarde v Arthur more than once.
Nope - it was the fight review.

With the sort of poise and punch power Richard's displayed against Pitters , he could develop into a very good British Champion.

i don't really expect that much out of him, just dont like he's good enough, pretty sure this will be the peak result of his career

All depends if he's treated like a champion by his management team and guided correctly from here onwards. Taking out Pitters in spectacular fashion is no mean feat.

He's already faced several quality British light heavies on his record, so if he's given proper notice etc, he could turn back one or two challengers.

It would be good if Hennessy would be willing to get Richards back on Channel 5 defending the title.

Is Richards not with Matchroom anymore then? I think Peter Sims manages and trains Richards, the Sims family are very well known in boxing circles so he is in good hands. Interesting to see where Richards goes from here.

It was really good value.

From the 6 rounder between Cantwell v Jackson to the Midlands Area title fight to the British title fight it was entertaining the whole way :TU:

Show came down to the age old formula, good match ups!
Sometimes it’s almost by accident, as in the late replacement that Cantwell encountered, but at least they had the balls to take on an unknown quantity. (Debutant) Jan Ardon will give most a good fight and Midlands Area Title fights generally deliver. Don’t know why Sky and BT allow their prospects to take up live TV for 2 years knocking over opponents well below their level. I don’t mind it happening in the development stage but it need not be televised, and if they are I think they should be careful to only have one “walkover” fight on the bill.

Credit to Mick H putting an excellent show on terrestrial - his interview in BN is interesting, He comes over as a really decent sort, doesn’t make too much of it but after putting in the long hard graft was clearly stabbed in the back by both his big stars, Froch and Fury.
Shame his man Pitters got upended here.

good fight this, very good win for richards bit crude of a fighter, pitters didnt use his adavanges , i think richards put it on pitters and that unsettled him , and landed some good shots, thought richards got over exicted when he had pitters down the first time and blew his chance but he recharged well as pitters was getting back in to the fight, but he got the job done , i think this was a good lost for pitters if he can learn from it , needed to be shown the error of his ways, should come back better ,

Can anyone really blame Froch and Fury for leaving his promotional stable? Froch’s career (money wise and profile) took off after leaving him and Fury’s profile has never been bigger either.

It must be tough to take given he’s the promoter that’s guided them from their pro debuts but when was the last time Mick sold out an arena show?

I went to the Froch vs Dirrell card and it was only about 60% full, the undercard was rubbish and the main event didn’t start until something like 1.30am.

Yes that’s what I’m referring to.

As for making sense leaving Mick to become big stars - Well he took Froch to the WBC world title in his hometown on prime-time ITV. and he took Tyson to the world heavyweight title in Germany - that’s phenomenal going, which ever way you cut it.

It was but both of them massively improved their profile’s once they left him - especially Froch. Whilst it was great for Froch to fight for the title on ITV, he also fought Kessler (from memory) on an online stream that probably had less than 30,000 watching.

Re: Fury, he did well to position him into being mandatory but, from memory, the PPV buys when he fought Klitschko were less than half of those AJ delivered against Klitschko.

I feel for mick re fury and froch but he couldn’t promote them to the same level as Hearn. They did the right think taking the cash. If they lost a few Hennessy would have booted them.

Loving the channel 5 cards. Good even matches as British level. He’s also excellent at sniffing out talent that the big boys miss.

I'd happily watch a card like that from start to finish .
