The head tells me Dave Allen’s in unbelievable shape for the first time since the Lenroy Thomas rematch.

The head also tells me Allen is a guy capable of struggling and almost getting beat by obscure Argentinians but a few months later he comes and knocks Lucas Browne out for the count with a body shot.

Therefore the head tells me leave this one out when betting this weekend.

I'm not dropping a great deal on this! But I think Lovejoy is clearly such an overweight fraud that Allen can't fail to stop him barring injury.

Are you a heavyweight boxer? That's interesting, if you are, you stand a chance, one punch etc - if you are just someone who weighs more than 14 st 4lbs then you're not and it doesn't sound like you are with all your self-confessed ailments.

Very difficult to do. I don't know of any publicly available register of contracts between boxers and promoters, and Lovejoy is absolutely nobody, so I dunno how they could have found out about the (alleged) contract with King even if they'd looked. I had no idea he was still involved in boxing in any capacity.

I think it’s difficult. The fighter has said he doesn’t have a promotional or managerial agreement so the lawyers don’t have anything to check unless there’s a central database to cross reference against.

If he’d said that he had a contract but was under the impression it had expired then they could have gone through that but it’s bloody difficult if the fighter isn’t honest.

C'mon , theres hundreds of guys out there who are in condition and will jump at the chance for the exposure , and give a 6 rnd war , for a fraction of the cost s

Lovejoy looked awful in that only bit of footage of him , wouldn't have gone 3 rounds .
As someone else said there must be a decent heavy in shape to step in at very short notice .

Agreed. The guy's ranked something like #440 by Boxrec, has bizarrely only fought in Tijuana and been having rematches with boxers he stopped in the first round. Fast Eddie would love this thread. Probably thinks he could serve up anything to fans.
