Same re: Khan/Brook. Two different groups of mates wanting to go. It’s a fight for the casuals.

Would they even know it was on if it was on Dazn? I think the sky hype machine with the added point that Eddie all around the world promoting so cannot devote the time to the UK shows - he is equally fussed about how DAZN USA (and the USA market) as he is DAZN UK (and the UK fights). Sky certainly don't promote the top ranks shows as they do the BOXXER shows.

I have no doubt that had Parker vs Chisora 2 been on Sky PPV - if early indications were it wasn't doing well, they would have drummed up the SSN coverage etc. As it stands Dazn do not have the platform and Eddie doesn't have the time to do it justice.

As for BT - like Channel 5, they don't seem to promote their shows full stop.

Next time I see my causal mates I’ll ask them if they’ve even heard of DAZN. One of them messaged on Sunday asking if I’d seen the Lopez fight and I just sent him a link to my DAZN account.

I see most of Matchroom’s hype as I follow most of the main YouTube channels (IFL, Boxing Social, SecondsOut etc.) and I think Eddie is probably doing more promotional stuff now than he was doing before when he was with Sky but it’s a massive miss having Sky Sports hyping it.

Being on the Sky Sports homepage every day in the lead up to fight, SSN, pre-promoted by the football like Adam Smith loved doing for the Netball, email reminders on PPVs, fighters on Soccer AM/League of their own, previous fights being shown on one of their many channels and now they spend time/money pushing boxing on Facebook and other social media channels.

DAZN need to find a way to promote to the masses as at the moment they’re really only promoting on social which can only get them so far.

He is now joined at the hip with the Tyson Fury entourage, like a slim Turtle from the TV series Entourage.
This all may have absolutely no bearing on how he will be when he fights Del Boy, but I fully expect it will.
He has left long time trainer and wallet drainer Kevin "the Olympic fix is in" Barry and started a new chapter.

Completely agree Maverick - just not sure if the platform is there. As people have alluded to, it is in essence a allegedly of the 2020's. Yes perhaps on a bigger scale as Matchroom is bigger than Queensbury, but then allegedly used to have some great content in Europe, China, Australia and America in non Queensbury promoted shows. In some ways allegedly was easier to subscribe to and no-one also had to worry about the stream failing (not saying that is an issue for DAZN) - sadly allegedly was not a sustainable success.

I just don't know if there is the interest to subscribe to JUST boxing content.

Dazn is great for me short term, i quite like eddie and his stable, so getting those fights for 3 bucks a month is great. But i feel eddie underestimated how important sky was to his sucsess. Has the stable now so will be fine, but how are you ever going to build a mainstream star who debuts on DAZN and stays there... impossible.

Personally i think eddie should of stayed with sky in the UK, and Had DAZN as the USA and international option.

Hope people remember this fights happening and tune in, Id like both these guys to do good enough numbers that the Big bosses bother to put em in decent fights moving fowards.

I have to make a correction, I got it slightly wrong.
Parker has been hanging and sparring with Tyson at the Kronk gym, but his new trainer is Andy Lee.
I was under the impression that Parker had made the switch to Kronk, but that was only to support Tyson and his training for Wilder...
He actually had camp for the Chisora fight in Ireland with Andy Lee.

Parker-Chisora undercard: McGregor is out, Cullen to face Sadjo instead of Cukur

We’ve known for quite some time that heavyweights Joseph Parker and Dereck Chisora would be facing each other in a rematch in Manchester on December 18.

The undercard looked pretty solid, with the likes of Carlos Gongora meeting Lerrone Richards at super middleweight and European bantamweight titleholder and rising star Lee McGregor defending his title against Narek Abgaryan. While Jack Cullen was tabbed to face Emre Cukur for the vacant European super middleweight title.

However, news reached The Ring that McGregor will instead now face Abgaryan in late January.

Cukur is out of his fight with Cullen due to a hand injury. Cullen will now meet dangerous Frenchman Kevin Lele Sadjo, in what may be a more difficult assignment.

Cullen enjoyed a breakout win over former Canelo opponent Avni Yildirim (UD 10) over the summer which helped position him for a shot at the vacant EBU title. The 28-year-old sports a (20-2-1, 9 knockout) record.

Sadjo was a French amateur champion before turning professional in 2017. The 31-year-old won his first 14 by knockout but has been taken the distance in his two most recent outings.

It should prove to be an interesting clash of styles between the 6-foot-3 Cullen and the smaller but more robust Sadjo, who is 5-foot-8.

Joseph Parker: My Career is On The Line in Chisora Rematch

"The first fight wasn’t the longest camp together with Andy, we were just getting to know each other and getting ready for the fight," said Parker. "A longer camp is more beneficial as I am understanding more what Andy is trying to teach me. We’ve worked so hard every day and I think that it’s really going to show on the night.

"Andy and I have been working on a lot of things in camp and the goal is to go in there and look better, and win but win well. I can say that I am going to be more dominant, more aggressive, and that sort of stuff, but I just want to go out there and fight and I will let my actions do the talking for me.

"I want the best Derek Chisora. I got a hard pressure fighter in the first fight with Derek and I think that he’ll be looking to make little adjustments to improve, so I am looking forward to what he’s going to bring. As long as I do what I can do it’s not going to go the distance, but I know he feels the same way. There’s no issues for me in the build up with a great camp and injury free.

"I like Derek and respect him, but this is not the time to be friends before the fight. I need to take care of business because my career is on the line here. He’s achieved a lot and I respect him, but that can wait until after the fight.

"I think the result was right. I did enough to win, it wasn’t the most dominant or best performance, it was a close fight but I believe I won it and it’s good to be able to run it back and to show the improvements I’ve made with Andy. It’s the first rematch of my career so I am excited for that and I just want to go out and fight hard, beat him up and put on a better performance and win in better fashion."

A bit worrying how much he looks up to Tyson. He's a former champion himself. He should be gunning for him.
