Boxing fans are the biggest bunch of whingers ive heard and im talking more twitter than here on boxrec, nothings ever good enough, they love to complain because if they really got upset about the sport the way they say they do they'd fcvk it off but like schoolgirls they love the drama and to be heard, Johnny Nelson is clearly a dreadful pundit but who gives a fcvk really, what happens in the ring is pretty much all that matters, everything else is flannel

Also 95% of the time in between fights im in the garden having a joint so im never paying attention to what anyone says, i do get that people love the punditry side of it but meh....
Also Radio commentary is very different to tv commentary...to be honest, I like Costello on the radio but I preferred John Rawling....but I dont feel that enthused by Rawling on the tv...hes okay, but was better on radio.

I'll miss the excellent chemistry between Costello and Bunce though
I do wonder how Costello will transition from radio to TV. Although doesn't he do TV commentary for the Athletics?

As for Rawling, he's OK but there's too much of a small hall feel with him.
Yeah I agree, when Rawling first left radio there was a big ohh ha cos he really was held in similar esteem to how Costello is now. Although the podcast is where Costello shows his knowledge and experience. The Lennox Lewis PPVs being covered on 5 live used to get positive praise on forums....people might forget there calls then calling Rawling the best commentator....but as you say, now I consider him "ok" on the tv side of things. Although I thought his commentary for Fury vs Wilder one was superb

Rawlings, Costello, Lee and Barker are without doubt very knowledgeable. But .. if you having a team to keep us entertained in-between the action, then they simply don't hold your attention.
Ok .. some say it's just filler; it's not important .. but it's part of the complete package.

The women and Bellend were added in most likely hood for the fun factor. The women are modern day ring card girls that speak - Bellend is just the clown 🤡

No Adam Smith or Nick Halling to go mental and convince people that Paul Smith is winning against Arthur Abraham just because he landed two consecutive right hands ‘ohhhggggggggfhhhhhhhh he’s doing it!!!!!’

Does anyone know what framerate Dazn are putting out? It looks like 25/30 which is horribly jerky?

Dazn UK and Ireland won't work until they massively increase their offering. They have far more sport like football in other territories.

Prime allegedly couldn't do it on boxing alone.
Hearns UK stable is very weak surely? And Joshua is still with Sky.

Gonna need Hearn to bring his Darts and Snooker from Matchroom. I don't think UFC is a goer on DAZN. Sky and BT have renewed the football.

Not sure what else could attract subs. I'd say they should go for Championship and League 1/2 football from Sky if possible. I could subscribe if it improved but unlikely in 2021 at least.

EFL Football is with Sky until May 2024.

So much sport is tied up right now and the big one-off events - Lions Tours, Ryder Cup (this one and next) - are also being shown on Sky.

The buyout of BT Sports which gives them Champs League and some Premiership along with other things like Prem Rugby and some interesting possibilities around WWE, would surely be their quickest way to establishing the channel with a wider market than Eddie Hearn and Connor Benn fans.

Fair enough, you'd have to assume they will really struggle in UK/Ire for foreseeable. Hearn promoting in Mexico and US doesn't offer us much at home. Do wonder is Hearn has over extended himself here.

BT sport buyout interesting, what's the valuation and do they have the money. Murdoch was in talks recently but pulled out.

Serie A and Bundesliga UK/Ire rights could be available

With the exception of Bellew (and Hearn pretty much admits it's a job for his mate) I can't complain about this - Costello and Lee are excellent, and I think Barker and Lloyd have potential.

Maya Jama has a huge profile and I can absolutely see why DAZN have gone for her in the Anna/Charlie role. The fact I think she's stunning obviously has nothing to do with my view.

Moaning about presenters being for "casuals" is fruitless. The hardcore represent a fraction of the potential audience and will still be paying their £1.99 a month whether it's a girl off Love Island presenting or the ghost of Sam Langford.
I’m beginning to wonder if I was a boring middle aged cnt when I was in my teens and twenties because even then I wanted serious presenters and pundits to deliver serious content rather than talking ring card girls as a previous poster so aptly put it.

Are there really people out there whose decision to subscribe to DAZN or not hinges on the presence of Maya Jama’s ass cheeks ?

lol ya its a funny one, like dudes out there are really gonna decide to pay for boxing because between fights for a couple minutes they get to see some fully clothed hot bird talk? is that really some thrill? and when there are already loads of them actually naked in every position imaginable on the internet?

i guess so
