Yarde still sore after the loss. Just reading he still gives Arthur no credit for beating him, saying he lost the fight because of himself.

lol minny with the sarcasm, just because you win a fight first time doesnt mean you should be backed second time. Just look at zelfa and kiko, zelfa won that fight by shutout, no one (possibly you) would back him in a rematch. Lyndon usually uses one hand in a lot of his fights, and we will see how many times he throws his right hand in this one, through fear of getting countered. Yarde was also happy to chessbox, he wont be making that mistake again. Let me make it plain id like to see arthur win, i always back the mancs (and pretty much anyone else) against the londoners (and its borders), but its unlikely, especially since the rumour was frank w had to push him into the fight. Anyway il revist this on sunday :)

ARTHUR V YARDE: THE SEQUEL IS HERE

WE ARE BACK at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday evening for our final UK show of 2021 and I fully expect we will be seeing the year out with a bang.

One year on, Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde are getting it on again following their closely-fought fight last year in Westminster and I am anticipating a different sort of spectacle this time around.

Last time it was cagey and tactical, not really what we thought we were in for when we made the fight. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a compelling affair because of the high level of the two fighters, but it didn’t really catch fire bar a few flickers in the final round.

There could be any number of reasons why the fight didn’t develop into open warfare and I reckon high on the list was the absence of fans from the venue. It affected fights and fighters in all sorts of ways during the restrictions and it certainly didn’t do the home fighters any favours right across the board.

I believe a packed house at the Copper Box, an electric atmosphere during the ring entrances and when the first bell goes, will inspire both men and propel them into a spectacular and memorable encounter.

The stakes are high and the prize for the winner will be a shot at the WBO world title, currently held by Joe Smith jr, but hopefully changing hands to Callum Johnson in mid-January.

We could well have an all-British punch-up for the world light heavyweight title on the cards for the spring, if all goes to plan.

First things first though and back to Saturday where a few spicy ingredients have been added to the mix in recent weeks. There is and has been some bad feelings from the Lyndon camp over the venue for this rematch, with it taking place in Anthony’s home city of London.

I wish I could reveal all about an elaborate conspiracy that led us to the Olympic Park in Stratford, but the truth of the matter is pretty boring. There was no venue available in Manchester on the dates we had available for the fight. We did try to go down the middle and take it to Birmingham in October, but that didn’t work out, so here we are and, after all, a ring is a ring.

Tickets have gone like hot cakes so both men will enjoy plenty of support in the arena.

Pat Barrett and Tunde Ajayi winding each other up provided a tasty side dish for the build-up, but their back and forth becomes completely irrelevent once these two big men start trading bombs.

I do suspect Anthony will turn up the heat but he will have to be sensible because Lyndon is a smart operator who would be more than happy for Anthony to empty his tank in trying to get him out of there. Anthony will know this and he now has a calming influence in the corner in James Cook, who will doubtless bring his experience to proceedings.

It will be fascinating to witness the ebb and flow of the fight as it unfolds and also to see how Lyndon reacts to being put under pressure as the unbeaten fighter of the pair.

I make no predictions other than it will be a cracking fight with a few twists and turns and the winner will fight for a world title next year.

Final Press Conference

allegedly: It is a fantastic fight and it should be added that Lyndon is #1 with the WBO, so the winner of this fight will get the winner of Joe Smith v Callum Johnson in January. That is what is on the table, there is more at stake in this fight and, as we know, the first fight took place behind closed doors. It was a good fight but it didn’t spark as I expected it to. It was a close fight that I thought Lyndon won, but this one will be different for many reasons. There is more at stake and it is in front of a live audience. They know each other well enough now, they have shared a ring for 12 rounds, so who has learned the most from that first fight? Who will change tactics from the first fight? Who will adapt?

Anthony Yarde: I think it is a mixture looking back on the first fight. I am not going to take anything away from Lyndon because he did his job, stayed on the back foot, popped out the jab and didn’t engage…he got the decision, a split decision and there are mixed opinions in boxing. One judge gave it to me by four or five rounds and two gave it to him by one round so it is just perspective and how you see the fight. At the time I thought I won it, they thought it was close and, going back and watching it from a different angle, I thought it was a closer fight as well. I am not about to bullsh*t anyone or lie about anything. I am a realist and you cannot progress or get better if you are not honest with yourself.

Lyndon Arthur: It is completely cool for him to say I am a boring fighter because the boring fighter won. I don’t need to listen to anyone, if they think I am boring, everyone is entitled to an opinion. It is sport and everyone in this room has an opinion on me and him. Whether they like me or him is down to them. I don’t care. If I am boring, I will win boring. We will find out on Saturday whether a crowd benefits either of us. He thinks it does, but I don’t think it benefits him. I don’t care, it is a fight and the crowd can’t get in there. They can scream, they can shout and it will make a fun atmosphere.

With any luck after this fight we will find out that Tunde ‘taking it back to the road’ actually meant going back to sweeping roads.

It's a shame Yarde doesn't break away from Tunde he'd probably have a lot more fans.

I think many people want to see Arthur win because Ajayi is such a massive knobhead anything is preferable to seeing one of his fighters win. That just means more of Tunde.

jokes aside, i like yardes team more than i like yarde. they are ridiculos, and i think he needs a real trainer, but i quite like them.

Pat turned on Kugan yesterday, because Lyndon pretended Kugan had called him a dickhead!

Feels like I was the only person who thought Yarde won the 1st fight (115-113) and I think he will win the 2nd one

Copperbox seems like a compact arena. I'm sure any seats are good.
