Charrat looks composed, unmarked and unbothered by Kerm's shots, while Lejarraga looks like his face has been squeezed thru a garlic-crusher every time he's hit.

Good to see Kerman win, very popular in Spain and is really good for Spanish boxing.

Happy for Kerman but as for Eggington, he is becoming worryingly shaky/chinny as seconds pass...

This weekends been brutal for unsatisfactory stoppages, this fight was top drawer, great clash of styles, I thought Charrat should be champ, i had him winning 97-94, he started off superb, really tidy boxer, put shots together well, moved well, controlled Lejarraga, made him look crude, Lejarraga did look strong whenever he landed but Charrat was schooling him first 5 rounds, caught him with some clean right uppercuts

Charrat tired though and Lejarraga began to walk him down and break him, the wheels looked like there was about to come off, Charrat was getting brutalized to the body and taking clean shots to the head, Charrat was getting his second wind when the head clash opened Lejarraga's eye up, poor ending and wrong winner for me

A really nice part of Spain but you don't hear much Basque up there - most people spoke Spanish when I was there.

The countryside is really beautiful and the food is superb! It reminded me of Wales.

A decent card actually with some good competitive fights. I enjoyed it a lot more than the BT show on Friday.

For a random person they would feel they are in a different country. Saying that on the other end of the scale Andulucia seems quite different from the rest of Spain too.
Historically the Basque Country was a separate set of people and after that when much of Spain had been taken over by North African Muslims for 700 years, the Basques were never invaded.
If you look physically at a Basque you will see they are quite pale skinned for example.
On the other hand most of the native Spaniards had interbred with the North Africans and are typically more dark skinned especially in Andulucia.

They look virtually the same. The way they are? In what way? The WEATHER? That has nothing to do with the people, and no, Basque weather isn't similar to England lol. The food is essentially a mixture of Spanish & French cuisine, which is to be expected, as Basque country is right in between Spain & France.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. Language and genetics aren't necessarily connected. You can have a transmission of language (and other culture), and little-to-no transmission of genetics. Just look at Hungarians and their Uralic language. But who'd deny that Hungarians are a European people?

My mistake, I misread your comment. But we do have different DNA. That's why genetic studies exist for different parts of the world. Greeks, for example, have different DNA from, say, French.

IMO weather plays a big part in someone's mood and personality. And while most people think Spain is just sunshine and beaches, it's really not, rain wise esp in winter it rains like in Manchester and Swansea. In the summer it's warmer than Britain but it is significantly cooler than most of Spain. In terms of looks, they are generally shorter, stockier and paler, and the women all have a fringe. Food is specific to the Basque Country and has little to do with either French or Spanish cuisine, also the portions are enormous.
Also the people are quite serious, professional, hardworking, quieter, dryer, whereas the Spanish are quite carefree, lazy, loud and reckless.
Look up a film called 8 Basque Surnames. It's a Spanish comedy film which is really quite funny which highlights such differences.

The closest English equivalent would be Yorkshire with its own language, food and government, with their weather being different to the rest of the country.
