Is Eubank Jr's hand being forced taking this fight?
The best we have seen of Eubank is a good few years ago - and his preparation for this will have been terrible.
Whereas Liam has had two recent good fights that will have prepared him perfectly for Eubank.
As a boxing fan, I'm weary of his opponent selection- the last couple anyway. I expected onwards and upwards, but it feels more like a holding pattern.
I don't know if he has slipped, or just fighting to the level put in front of him..
We will soon see, and I'm looking forward to finding out. I like Williams, and maybe I'm a little biased, but I think he is the best Eubank Jr's faced for ages

For Sky its a great fight, it wont move either upwards but it keeps them in the mix and will give them great publicity

Cracking match-up. Will be an awesome atmosphere in Cardiff.
Tough fight to call but I'm backing my countryman. Very interested to see how it pans out. Will Eubank stick to his new mini RJJ style, once the pressure is on? Will his hand speed get him the advantages?
Liam can box or brawl and am looking forward to seeing how he fights. Build-up should be explosive. Can't wait for this!

I think if Williams is smart he can outbox jnr by moving in an out of the pocket, if they tough it out it will be 50-50, even a bit in the EU's favour.

There`s also the Nick Blackwell angle with this fight isn`t there.
Nick and Liam were very close as they trained together under Gary Lockett at the time of Nick`s fight with Eubank and subsequent injuries, and I`d be very surprised if this didn`t get mentioned in the build-up to this fight.
I can't help thinking about the Simon Collins and Denys Cronin angle to this too.
Collins was a fantastic gym fighter, but could not do a lot outside of the gym. He reassured Cronin he'd be too much for Eubank, even knowing Cronin's injuries beforehand.
Luckily Eubank Jr isn't half the fighter his dad was - and Liam is a lot more than Cronin was.
Liam is a very strong and fit fighter; but limited to be fair.
Eubank Jr is very fit and game .. and as limited, although in different areas to Liam. It will be interesting to see who has the trump card when they fight.
I can't help thinking that the people behind Eubank are giving him the acid test to decide what they do with him. It's a make or break for either guy .. more so Eubank who has the hype around him as an anchor.
We got our tickets; can't wait for this.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams | Sky Sports - 11 December 2021
Middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. is not concerned with the hostile environment that awaits him on December 11, when he faces domestic rival Liam Williams.
Eubank will face Williams at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
Promoter Ben Shalom of BOXXER is expecting a sellout crowd with a significant amount of tickets already sold for the grudge match.
"Full credit must go to both fighters for taking on such a big fight. Eubank is going into the dragon's den here to face Williams on his home soil in Wales and the atmosphere in the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff is going to be unbelievable," Shalom told Sky Sports.
"The bitterness between the fighters, the rivalry between England and Wales, the location, the fighters' styles - this has got all the ingredients to be an all-time classic. We said this was the domestic fight of the year, and as soon as tickets went on sale at midday, it was clear the British public agreed with us. Thousands of tickets were sold in the first hour - the first thousand were sold in just five minutes - this will be a sold-out arena on December 11 in Cardiff."
Eubank previously explained that a hostile arena will only make him fight harder to turn back Williams.
"I'm no stranger to going into the lion's den," Eubank told Sky Sports. "I've been booed into arenas many times before.
"It doesn't affect me. If anything, it makes me fight harder, if the crowd is against me. Not to say that I'm hoping they are. I hope that I receive a warm welcome. But either way, I'm going to go in there and get the job done."

Press Release | Liam Williams: Eubank Had To Come To Cardiff Because He Doesn’t Sell a Ticket, Has No Friends!
Liam Williams and Chris Eubank Jnr both traded words as they met at their press conference ahead of next month’s highly-anticipated battle.
The two men will collide on an event at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on December 11 put together by Wasserman Boxing and Boxxer, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
They went head to head at the launch press conference on Wednesday, and things got heated between the pair ahead of their showdown.
Williams said: “It’s amazing to bring this fight back to Wales. So many people have been talking about it for a long time. Everybody is buzzing, and nobody is more excited than me. What more can I ask for, I just need to turn up and deliver.
“This is massive for me. I’m coming off a loss to Andrade in a world title fight, and there’s no shame in that. I’m gutted I lost, but I need to win this fight to get myself back in a position where I can fight for another world title.
“I have just Chris standing in my way, and I’ll go through him and deal with him and then we’ll move onto the next one. I’ve got a lot of respect for him as a fighter. He’s tough and durable and in fantastic shape.
“He comes to have a good fight, but he’s just another opponent to me. I want to punch his head in and move forward. I don’t have respect for him as a person. I don’t like how he goes about his business, and he is not somebody I would want to be friends with.
“I’ve said a few things to him online, but I have no regrets. Whatever I’ve said I’ve said, and if he doesn’t like it who cares. He’s had to come to Cardiff because he doesn’t sell a ticket and has no friends.
“The Welsh fans will be hostile for him. They’re very passionate, and are amazing people, and they’re not going to be the most welcoming for him. I’m sure he’ll thrive off it just like I would. I like fighting away from home, as it gives you the extra nerves and puts you on edge.
“He’ll react to the situation well as I think he’s mentally strong, so we’ll see. It won’t make a difference, we’re both there to do a job, and the best man will win on the night. We’ve got a game plan in place and we all know what his strengths and weaknesses are.”
