it is very high, but bivol coasted, fought like he didnt take it all that seriously, and gave away some rounds by doing nothing rather than getting outboxed or outfought. and tbh the scores make it seem like it was closer than it was. i had bivol winning 9 rounds and think these scores are closer to a true reflection: https://eyeonthering.com/boxing/dmitry- ... g-richards
i dont recall richards being hurt, he seems decently sturdy. also has some of his own power that may keep buatsi honest for a bit. so i could see him getting pounded but lasting the distance or being pulled out late on his feet
i do rate buatsi. would love it if that previously cancelled vlasov fight was next
Buatsi won't just have a staring match like Bivol did. He comes forward a lot of the time and doesn't mind having to defend shots as he does. I suppose there is an off chance that he gets lulled into a staring match. In most of his fights I've seen he is capable of coming forward and trusts his defence but it does look a bit leaky. His chin seems OK but I wouldn't be surprised if he got caught with something from Richards. If Richards can hurt him and then lull him into a low volume staring match kind of fight I guess that's his most likely chance of winning. If I was betting on the fight I'd be on Buatsi by stoppage. I think Richards best chance of victory is a decision so I'd put a small saver on that and just take the loss if Buatsi wins a decision or Richards stops him.

Ed forcasting 5,000 tickets sold for this. why put it at the O2 then? Also, geeze if this card can ony do 5,000 it makes Johny fisher look good and veryyyy valuable.

It also suggests it will do around 3,000.

Should have done it at Wembley arena or CopperBox.

Matchroom really missing the SKY cross channel promotional tactics now , Buatsi is now another 'pointless' boxer, nobody outside the real fans/trade knows who he is or remembers the olympics

Yep. He’s been too inactive and it’s hard to really build a fan base without it or having the backing of a football team’s support base or being the son of big John Fisher.

So Bridger was made because there was too big a gap from cruiser to heavyweight, so guys that were too big for cruiser but to small for heavy had a place, And now they have 2 small Cruiserweights fighting for the silver Bridger title... Makes a ton of sense...
The truth is the division actually needed is a 187 div. And coincidently if they made that it would be perfect for babic...

The only way to get noticed is to have cross channel coverage, even better if it's terrestrial TV but Buatsi and Richards wouldn't be recognised by anyone but the real boxing fans and they are topping the bill at the O2.
As much as Hearn says otherwise DAZN is a disaster publicity wise for his fighters and his shows. More people would see stuff on Sky Sports News and during the football then watching You Tube and social media

Return cruiser to 190 and add 210. I don't like the name bridger because I think it insinuates inferiority based on size. As if no-one should aim to spend their career there, whereafter they'd be viewed as failures for not making heavy.

I agree with this. Light heavy is currently a jump of 25lbs or over 14%.

I think 224's too high, because there have been and potentially will be so many viable heavies at that weight. The key for me is that weight advantage seems to taper after 250, even for Fury. So anyone who can't make 210 will be 220+, whereas you can make 224 walking around at 238!

Yes you make a good case. Also some of the lower divisions where a good dump can see you drop a weight level or two should disappear. And no man should be under 8 stone lol

Did anyone notice how unwell Ellie Scotney looked at the weigh in?
She looked almost grey and she has Shades of Hughie acne going on, doesn't look healthy to me.

Looks like that at every weigh in and fight. Always suspected she could be on the same stuff as Hughie got popped for if you know what I mean.
