Its a bitch and its called payback ,,, My oh my did'nt he relize he was still under contract when he decided he did'nt like Hearn anymore , ,, should of took his shoes and socks off and counted how many he signed for and how many he had actually had , before he started name calling and talking about how hard up he was becuase of them .. Personaly i thought he had acheived a lot more than he would off elswhere , with Hearn , got fed his share of dud opponents , earnt a bit of money , wonder if he'll do any better has a free agent , when he finally has that last release fight ..

Lucky its not uncle Fwank who has him tied up , besides never ever getting out of his contract , he'd probably be in court for slander has well , Eddie will probably just make him squirm then thro him a hard fight for minimal money ,

I know for sure if i was Eddie , his next opponent would definetly be one he better prepare for and the money would be the lowest i could pay

Eddie said he offered him a fight on the Ab Dhabi show. Who knows though re: notice, quality of opponent and his purse for it.

Okolie has also left 258 management. I do question the kind of advice he’s been getting or whether it’s his own stupidity. As I’ve said before I think he was promoted and matched really well, I’m sure he made a lot of money and asked for a Rolex from Eddie and got one.

This isn’t a case of a boxer being shafted for money or paid late by a promoter. This is Okolie wanting to join Boxxer/Sky, not getting his way, having to finish his contract and then implying one of the most offensive things you can say about someone.

Okolie is seeing himself as a superstar, befor he is a superstar.

He was the worst boxer in the world to watch a few years ago, has managed to get a bit more fan friendly, and he is good, just needed to chip away his last fight with hearn. then go fight by fight (like whyte and a few others). UFC fighters have made this mistake with Dana... piss him off then want out but still have a contract.

And anyone who's been out of work knows this ,, Some though who have been entitled and looked after don't know it .. It does sort of throw light on why even the real good promoters become hard and harder has they go along , imagine being Eddie bringing this guy along putting money and time into him and then he says your a cooont , your using me i want to leave ... Would'nt be happy would you , UNTIL you relized heh hang on , he's still under contract for one more fight ,,, in Eddies shoes i'd rub my hands together and say to Frank Smith ,, lets have some fun with him now .

He would find the only offers he gets of me would be against guys he don't want for peanuts , when i'd held his carreer up and got bored i would offer for him to buy his contract out

SKY can hype him during the 5:30 kick off, if he's fighting that night and they can promote it all week on SSN and they can air the public workout and even send him on TalkSport, but all those Sports fans, who occasionally watch boxing will tune out as soon as he clinches for the billionth time in the first round.

Shalom’s stirring it seems. Eddie maintains he’s got a fight left on his contract. I’m pretty sure I remember hearing Shane McGuigan saying the same thing 3 months or so back.

Yes most probably, Hearn has come out again yesterday and said Okolie has one fight left. Shalom looks set to get him at some point, he mentions him in every interview when talking about the cruisers (as if he's one of his fighters)

Not sure who has been getting in Okolie's ears for him to be like he has, but suspect he's been sold a ticket on being one of the the next big PPV stars on SKY, which they lack at the moment.

It’s a complete mess. Okolie’s at odds with his management team, implying Eddie’s a slave master and Shane McGuigan doesn’t seem sure what’s going on. He was interviewed yesterday and seemingly thought he was still working with Lawrence but also said Lawrence hasn’t been in the gym for a while and is basing himself in Dubai.

It’s a right mess. Obviously none of us know the detail but from the outside it seems that Okolie has been promoted and managed well given what he’s won, shows he’s fought on since he turned pro. I’d imagine he’s had someone in his ear saying he should have got more, the contract’s not valid etc. and he’s bought it.

He should have just kept quiet, got the final fight out of the way with Eddie and then listened to offers. Hard to have any sympathy for him.

Shane McGuigan’s Update On His Relationship With Lawrence Okolie

Lawrence Okolie Currently Not Training With Shane McGuigan Full Time, McGuigan Reveals

Shane McGuigan, the trainer of WBO world cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie (18-0, 14 KOs), recently updated TalkSport on his relationship with Okolie and what the future holds for the British fighter.

McGuigan revealed that he has NOT split with Okolie but the WBO champion is currently living out in Dubai and therefore “he’s not actively in the gym every day”. McGuigan, however, stated that he and Okolie are on good terms and that he hopes to work with Okolie in the future.

McGuigan proclaimed that “Lawrence has got some things he’s got to sort out when it comes to his boxing”. This is most likely referring to his promotional situation. Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing claim they have one fight left with Okolie on his contract and there has been a fallout between the two over comments Okolie made back in July.

Okolie believed he was out of contract and BOXXER’s Ben Shalom stated in an interview today that he was under the impression that this was the case. Hearn revealed earlier in the year that BOXXER/Shalom illegally approached Okolie whilst under contract to sign with BOXXER/Sky Sports. Hearn/Matchroom responded with a cease and desist letter.

Sources have told NoSmokeBoxing that even after this situation there have been talks from both the Okolie and BOXXER sides for the WBO champion to fight on Sky Sports even though he was still under contract at that point (and possibly is right now). It is worth noting that Okolie has also split with 258 MGT.

McGuigan concluded the interview by stating that Okolie has a lot of potential but “Unfortunately there’s things in his life that are stopping him from fulfilling it”.
