Yeah - some good shows but in September, for my £8, I get a Mexico show, a Costa Rican show and the Nottingham show. I wouldn’t say that’s good value for money.

And that's off the back of a light few months.

I don't think DAZN's plan anymore is to be sustainable off the back of subscribers for the Saturday night fight nights either in Uk or US.

Really, it's going to be about PPVs, Betting (big question marks there) and Youtube boxing.

the DAZN guy markoski was giving interviews in abu dabi the other day and made it very clear that ppv is the only solution to enable the biggest fights ie the ones we want . However he did also admit that they could not abuse it and so have to use their ppv `s wisely .
AJ is a PPV fighter despite the current situation and losses and this is very unlikely to change as there must have been something in the contract he signed with them giving revenue guarantees etc .
So all of the BS about joshua being on the slide and only filling small halls is utter bitterness .

I think a lot of people are in denial about what is coming down the road and will be hitting everyone before December. My gas/electric direct debit is going from £90 a month to £200 and that is for a pensioner in a small flat on a fixed income. So the only way to afford that is to cut back and I won't be the only one affected like this or even worse.
It won't be a case of not wanting to pay 28 quid to watch Joshua fight a bum but simply not able to afford it , I could afford to pay for DAZN, PPV like the Usyk fight last week and even the odd live show that has now gone out of the window.
A lot of promoters will be telling boxers to get real with purse demands going forward or you won't be fighting.

Nb I dont subsribe to dazn and franky if the fight is good dont care which channel or streaming service is broadcasting .

Be interesting to see their financials, I would guess they are losing plenty at the moment, but then I'd say there was always going to be time before they would make a profit.
Depends how deep the pockets are, in the end it's the banks money, the manager will get bonuses for hitting lending targets!

Nb I dont subsribe to dazn and franky if the fight is good dont care which channel or streaming service is broadcasting .

They won’t go bust per se because the owner is so rich. But he won’t bankroll forever without any sign of profit, the company has already done a bunch of restructuring. The introduction of PPV is just the final opportunity to squeeze as much money out of it as possible before closing it down.

It’s not clearly distinct at all. It’s not a separate company and when they do something like Benn/Eubank, or any other big shows, they’ll be looking at global results and not just those for the U.K.

Setanta set up U.K. operations and had separate companies (Setanta Sport Limited and Setanta Transmissions U.K. Limited) for it. Both went into administration and were eventually dissolved.

Eddie Hearn revealed the backup options for Anthony Joshua’s December fight if he’s unable to negotiate the mega-fight against Tyson Fury.
