Amazon Prime Video and DAZN Sign Distribution Deal

Amazon and DAZN have signed a global distribution partnership that will see DAZN’s direct-to-consumer sports streaming service available as a Prime Video Channel.

The partnership will give Prime Video customers access to DAZN’s live and on-demand sports content for an additional monthly fee. The service rollout begins Thursday with Spain and Germany and will continue through the year, with Japan next in line.

DAZN’s footprint includes Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Japan, Canada, U.S. and the U.K. Available content includes soccer from Bundesliga, English Premier League, J.League, LaLiga, Serie A, UEFA Champion’s League, UEFA Women’s European Champions League and Liga F, in addition to Formula 1, NBA, MotoGP and the UFC. DAZN is also a destination for boxing and combat sports via its partnerships with Matchroom Boxing and the Professional Fighters League.

ay Marine, global head of sports, Prime Video, said: “This new partnership with DAZN is an exciting step forward for Prime Video’s global sports offering, and gives our customers more choice of the best live and on-demand sports, all in one place.”

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN, added: “This is great news for sports fans around the world with even more ways to access DAZN’s broad selection of premium sports content. We are excited to create a long-term global partnership with Prime Video as we continue to innovate in digital sports experiences for customers.”

DAZN will join Prime Video Channels that include brands like HBO Max, Discovery+, Paramount+ Lionsgate+ and Showtime. Customers have the option of paying only for the channels they want and can cancel anytime.

It’s not included within peoples’ Amazon Prime membership. It just means that you can access DAZN when you’re on the Prime Video app. You still have to pay DAZN on top of Prime though.

It makes it a little bit more accessible for people though and if people have Sky Q then they’ll be able to get on to it easily through a couple of buttons.

Yet another additional subscription for Prime members to immediately skip over. There must be about 10 on there already, very annoying.

The Sky platform is what they need to be on.

Pay TV is what all live sports needs to be on other than one off PPVs.

Eddie must have trouble sleeping at night knowing he messed up big time here, I’m no fan but I feel bad for him, that’s a huge f**ck up, plus giving life to the opposition boxxer.

Good for fans in long run maybe, we don’t want a matchroom monopoly, he’ll have to up his game, prob not via the DAZN route though

Additional fees . Aren't people generally skint ?
It's a shame Amazon didn't do a deal to show it inclusive of prime membership.

Yeh, DAZN UK sucks.

It's in AEW's best interest to keep the UK rights with ITV imo..

No UK, USA, France or Germany which would be their biggest markets. I'm sure there must be millions of AEW in Belarus who will subscribe though. Basically just selling the rights to countries who have no interest in wrestling

DAZN and Amazon linking up to put in a joint bid for English Premier footy in 2027. The vibes from new CEO at WBD is they won’t be bidding. It’s a long term project.

They should do what Fite TV do. Make sign up and subscription free then charge on a fight-per-fight basis. That way people will stay subscribed as it becomes a bit of a pain subscribing and unsubscribing based on the [lack of] content every other month.

The month is over and still only one show. He said mid December that he would schedule till the month of May.

All is not well and maybe Edward is jumping ship or pushed off the ship?

I miss his sky shows as top to bottom they were the best ,,

Game Changed = looking like game over
