DAZN messaged me back saying I have to cancel my existing contract to begin the new one, bit of a pain in the arse but fair enough, from what I gather the contract will automatically stop when the price goes up, would it b best to wait until it runs out before starting new one, what's everyone else doing who are keeping it??
I haven’t had any communication from DAZN. Did you?. When does this all start?. From April subscription?. I’m 50/50 what to do. I get a pay bonus in March so I may pay upfront and see what value I get this year.

I haven’t had any comms yet either. Not sure when it starts but I’ll be doing the same, paying upfront and hopefully it’ll be worth the £100.

I got an email from them a couple of days ago but I DMd them on Twitter and they always replied within minutes, your DAZN subscription will automatically stop after the price hike and you'll need to resubscribe but has to be a different email apparently, no idea why but from there you choose your package, I'll go for the 12 months no probs, £9.99, no brainer

Yea, I’ve read this debate with interest. It comes down to what you can afford and what you consider value. If they take the p@ss then they won’t ever get any more out of me.

What kind of company doesn’t inform you about a significant change to your terms and conditions. That exemplifies the low regard they hold their customers in.

I would imagine they’re rolling out based on when people’s renewal dates are. Only guessing though.
I’m not too bothered as long as I get warning before it happens. If the charge automatically increases to £19.99 or I lose the ability to watch without having any comms from DAZN then I’d be rightfully pissed off.

This makes sense. We’re on a rolling contract so that has to stop and you need to sign up to a new “offer”. I think we will receive an automatic email discussing options on our March payment dates. They would be silly not to communicate this and they would probably have to give a month’s notice to stop our rolling contract.

Eddie Hearn Responds To Criticism Over DAZN Price Increase
The spin is quite incredible, saying a price increase is rewarding loyal customers...
It's an effort from DAZN to look after the loyal subscribers.

LOL
There is no price increase for me, I was paying £8 and now I’m paying £8.
Golden Boy and Matchroom have been showing quality boxing for over a decade.
I’d pay £8 for just one promoter, it’s a bargain getting two !

It has gone up slightly even if you sign up for the year. But the idea you could drop in and out was a big plus, I mean January had precisely zero fights. Compare it to value of BT Sports or Sky Sports and it's a total rip off.

Zero in January, but there are months with multiple events.

Yeah that’s me cancelled and I was a big DAZN fan and used it all the time since it came out.

A lot of boxing fans still cant seem to grasp DAZN is a sports network not a boxing network, granted their sports are pretty dire and not for me but horses for courses, this £9.99 a month deal will keep the Misfits casual fans locked in for a year, if you don't watch every card then I can understand why folk don't want to be tied into a years contract but as someone who'll stay regardless that deal will do me fine, fck spending 20 quid a month for something I'll keep when I can get it for half the price
Go check the schedule up until May, DAZN pisses over sky, BT and Channel 5, PBC don't even air their shows here so their irrelevant, Matchroom put on more shows than Frank, Al and Bob so even if the content isn't up to scratch on the backend they'll still be plenty boxing on, January is always bare so no surprises there, Golden Boy need to up their game though, get Vergil active and stop putting Munguia in with cans
DAZN also got Canelo coming up so shut the fck up you miserable bunch of coonts

In the UK, DAZN is basically a boxing network at the moment.
I don't think anyone really sub's for anything other than boxing on DAZN.
They have PFL, Impact Wrestling (apparently), women's football, Red Bull tv, LIV Golf.

Yeh I was taking the mick in the previous post, people who pay subs are well entitled to have a moan if they're in unhappy, as I say I'm happy enough, I paid for sky and BT for years and pretty much only watched boxing so maybe it doesn't faze me as much as it should, I do watch a bit of football and darts but not enough to justify the price I was paying hence now I'm team stream

DAZN still in it's infancy as well, it'll take time before it's on equal terms with BT and Sky etc I do wish they'd branch out to other promoters though, there's no doubt there's been a dip in Eddie's big fights and Oscar has plummeted, I've no idea why PBC don't seek out a British network

£100 is £8.33 per month which is 34p more than current cost. What a bunch of wining children.
Except not everyone has been keeping the £7.99 going every month.
Personally I reckon I was paying for DAZN 6 months out of the years tops. So this development can be quite a bit more than 34p to some.

I’d be surprised if anyone is naive to think that. They’re not saying at the moment there won’t be any PPVs. It will depend on the level of fight they have on PPV for me. If they start with having Canelo/Ryder on PPV then it’s poor. If it’s just saved for the real big fights then I’d get it.
Will be interesting to see how they actually do PPV. If it’s £20 to DAZN subscribers then it will be £40 for a casual fan so not sure how successful that would actually be.

The fact is that free everything for everyone isn’t sustainable.
DAZN started very cheaply to attract customers and encourage people to try it. They have been making losses and that cannot continue indefinitely.
If you want to see their shows more than you want £9.99 every month, subscribe. If you don’t then it’s your decision to use it like a PPV for contests that you do want to see. I won’t include the ‘steal it’ option as I don’t think people should, though many here seem to delight in doing so.
