i'm hearing its ruiz now. whatever. i think im done with fury, and i was a fan. i get hes using the sport and not letting it use him, fair play.... but if hes not interested in usyk he may as well call it a day.

I’m happy with Ruiz. As somebody said, he’s going through a divorce which is unfortunate, but it might mean he is motivated and fighting to keep a shirt on his back and future paydays etc.

That should mean he can hopefully stay out of Taco Bell during his camp.

Because Fury so clearly ducked AJ and just recently Usyk, he needs a credible opponent next otherwise him being regarded as the top heavyweight will become an even bigger joke than he currently is.

Zhang would be an acceptable opponent following his injury win over Joyce. The plodding Fury we have now would make for an interesting fight against the low output Zhang .. but we already know Fury will look for the easiest opponent his promoter's can sell to his gullible fans

*Outside of Usyk. I love to see hrgović or Bakole get the fight .. they appear the top guys at moment I'd say. Both guys workrate would be way too much for Fury.

I was rewatching highlights from his fight with Holyfield the other day - good lord he absorbed one hell of a beating in that fight, his head must have the density of a bowling ball.

But I imagine he was one of those fighters who once you actually fought him, actually set problems to be solved not apparent on television. Basically a dense, immovable object who was quite smart in his punch selection and timing. It was surprising that quite dynamic fighters like Morrison and Briggs basically ran for their lives. Yet against Lewis they would at least try to punch it out. Briggs came pretty close in fact to unseating Lewis, and could have done it with more staying power. But didn’t deserve the decision against a very old Foreman.

Ali famously admitted years after the Foreman fight, that the reason for the rope-a-dope tactics, was that he realised that Joe's footwork and positioning was much better than he had thought, and he realised there was no way he could stick and move for 15 rounds and hope to win.

George had good trainers, it's not surprising, he absolutely annihilated both Frazier and Norton, both tough and well schooled fighters, you don't do that with nothing more than brute power. It helped that he had a great chin and was very hard to deter also.

George was very carefully matched in that second career. Got the shot against Moorer after a defeat to Morrison.

Still an amazing achievement.

Sounds like some pretty serious allegations. Let's see how this one plays out.

I watched that the other day. The punches he's swinging versus Holyfield look like death blows. From 87-91 he still seemed to possess max power.

I watched that the other day. The punches he's swinging versus Holyfield look like death blows. From 87-91 he still seemed to possess max power.

Yeah it was like he was swinging two big logs around, foremans hooks werent quick but the were deadly as he rotated his body fully behind them. Those huge tree trunk.legs and his core strength meant there was huge momentum in them.
