Full credit to Tapales he never came to roll over and was a problem for Inoue to solve, he did catch Inoue plenty and done a good job of riding or blocking punches but really Inoue was the boss, had Tapales down from a flurry in the 4th but the bell saved him from further punishment, Tapeles grew in confidence though and although Inoue was still class, he neglected the body and couldn't build on the knockdown, Tapeles showed his balls, the finish in round 10 was a bit strange and sudden, a standard right hand had Tapeles backing up and taking a full count, must've been a sore one, Inoue a special special fighter, so much more than power, his skills and temprement are off the charts, showed a good beard a couple of times as well

guys are spooked by inoue. very few opponents really commit to winning rounds against him. tapales had moments were he'd trade, but for the most part was hyper focused on being a nuissance with his southpaw defensive shell and turning to the side. fulton was all defense pretty much . butler ran a track meet
i feel nery would commit more to offense even if he got ko'd for him (which he would)

Tapales just finally broke I think, it's not only the punches, it's the intense concentration you need fighting Inoue, he's absolutely relentless with the way he judges distance.

ya i agree. if i think there was one thing above all others inoue couldve improved on, he shouldve been busier to the body, especially in the second half

I thought tap looked like he was running out of steam at the end of the previous round. I think if he got caught by that same punch 4 rounds earlier he would of still been standing but he took big shots throughout the whole fight and all together was too much

nery might be next for inoue. he should defo be targetting that body, nery doesn't like it downstairs. stopped by figg to the body and was fading and getting taken over by azat's body work before pulling out a fight changer. inoue a bit too right hand to the head happy vs tap

Problem for these other guys is just how do you beat him ,, you want to box he outboxes you ,, want to drag him into a fight , he has a rock solid chin and hits harder , , his balance is superb , his ring IQ is top notch , he's incredibly strong for a guy his size , he's never even blowing hard after 10 hard rnds , , the guy truly is a monster , he's a nightmare for anyone .
When will it end for him if he stays down in weight , i predict when he finishes of his own accord , if he goes up , well sooner or later that catches up with everyone just how many divisions i would'nt like to guess

I feel like we're lucky to have someone like Inoue in boxing today. Who needs the heavyweights.

I know it's easier said than done, but if you want to beat him, you have to win the first round. SRL put a big focus on that for the Hagler fight. Win the first round and then build from there. Take it one round at a time.

It wasn't really.
It WAS a great performance from all-time great - well worth watching a magician - but it wasn't a thrilling contest.
Make sure you watch the chief support - nowhere near as good obvs, but that was a great
fight !

Fully agree
Winds me up no end that so many casuals have no interest in such as Inoue and Tank while they’ll spend valuable time on tripe like Whyte, Chisora and Ruiz

Was able to catch it from round 6 onwards, good good effort from Tapales but the Monster is easily the P4P king of our time. I think Murodjon Akhmadaliev is the only one in the weight class who could have a chance against him as long as his hand is healthy. And more than Nery I would love to see Crazy A against Inoue, that would be a thrilling contest.

What do you think about Inoue moving up to feather?

Watched the KO punch a few times now, it didn't look that bad of a shot, looked like Tapales stood up to some bigger ones before, not for one minute suggesting he took a dive but it must've caught him on the sweet spot and short circuited him

I’d like to see it, but got a feeling that’s where he tops out. Unless they have him on the Manny juice.

I just saw a video from a better angle in slow motion.
Tapales took the punch clean on his temple, barely touched his glove.

Sam Goodman could be next. Unbeaten, #1 in the IBF and WBO. He had a pretty decent amateur career.

Watching it now, Tapales has showed heart and skill. But Inoue is so skilled, he’s dominating. Really has very few weaknesses as a fighter. His balance and footwork are top class.

Temple eh? Never noticed that, knew it was legit nonetheless

Didn't notice it either. Looked very confusing live, but from a different angle, you can see it clearly.
