Just caught up on the Opening Bell, Steedman's rant did make me chuckle. I do feel a bit bad they don't have many Patreons, but I bet nearly all podcasts have 99% of listeners not paying for them. At the end of the day, there's an abundance of free content available for boxing, probably too much content really given the relatively slow pace of news and events. If you feel that strongly, put the whole show behind a paywall, but don't slag off the audience for not voluntarily making financial contributions to something which is put out for free.

A new Opening Bell has dropped so reports of the end seem exaggerated, for now at least.

Listened to it today, didnt realize it was split 4 ways. Maybe Alex and matt should learn to edit themselves

think Alex was just venting, they said they will keep doing it till the end of the year

Does a dark story of some kind of addiction lie behind Steedman’s references to his frequent trips to Ibiza ?? Is this why he evidently needs our money so desperately ? Is it a cry for help ?

More than 10 minutes he spends at the start of this week’s pod pleading with us to pay him for his “ability and talent” - he actually says that :brick: - at one point letting us know that he got 15 times the money he receives for the pod to present a show on C5. Maybe give them a ring Steedo, see if they can use your ability and talent in some way.

I used to enjoy his work on allegedly and I really enjoy his contribution to this pod but jeez he’s coming across as grasping and quite delusional at times. I listen to several sporting podcasts regularly and I’ve never heard anybody on any of them use the platform as a begging bowl

What ability and talent? I'm not even trying to be a twat about it, what does he mean? I'd take several on here as having more knowledge than him. What seperates him from the others?

It's clearly an emotive subject for them, but I really don't understand why that podcast needs 4 people. Surely it just needs Matt and Alex to press record before they start chatting and spend a few mins between them afterwards editing before putting it out? Does the guy who did the terrible music get a cut every week as well? The mind boggles.

I understand they want cash but I've got 10 or so podcasts on the go and most want money so I dont give to any. One is an American Christian podcast and although it's mainly very good, the host does occasionally break into 'If you don't give to this church, you're stealing God's money', which feels a bit of a stretch. If I can ignore that then Steedman's got his work cut out prising open my wallet.

The nuthouse podcast has long been my go to listen on a monday, but its changed a lot recently and is much poorer for it.

Steve Wellings has left, leaving the hosting to the american guy matty, who i struggle with. Fairly sure he's a 40yr old virgin.

Regulars Andy, oz and Rob barely feature now and they have done away with bellew of the week which was usually pretty funny.

Plus side is some guy called Des features more. Very knowledgable, although very straight laced.
Anyone know who he is? Clearly involved in the game, gonna guess an amateur trainer.
