I thought STone won that fairly handily 4-2/5-1 type thing, but judges seem to like Ram and he DID get a 10-8 in R1.

He will continue to be the standout of the Heavies after the Tournament as well. The Popping hot will matter not.

JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT

Mujibillo Tursunov def. Danylo Lozan MD

Tursunov and Lozan started the day with an all-action bout, with Tursunov’s pressure and volume helping him carry the day and become the first fighter to earn a spot in the super lightweight final. Tursunov (9-0, 2 KOs) won, 59-55 twice and 58-56 twice across four of the five judges’ scorecards. The loss was the first for Lozan (15-1, 9 KOs) in his pro career.

Carlos Utria def. Ntethelelo Nkosi by TKO 1

Utria continued his dominating run with his most impressive performance yet, as he stopped Nkosi in less than two minutes. Utria (13-0, 11 KOs) hurt Nkosi (10-3, 5 KOs) with a straight right hand followed by a left hook. Nkosi went stumbling into the ropes. And after a flurry of shots from Utria, referee Hector Afu stopped the fight with 1:23 remaining in the opening round.

FEATHERWEIGHT

Muhamet Qamili def. Yoni Valverde TKO 1

Qamili stamped his place in the final with a first-round stoppage of Yoni Valverde Jr. Around the midway point of the opening round, Qamili (17-0-1, 8 KOs) connected with a huge left hand to the chin of Valverde (16-1, 3 KOs). Valverde rose to his feet on unsteady legs, and a barrage of punches from Qamili forced referee Joel Scobie to call a halt to the fight late in the round. It was Qamili’s first stoppage victory in the Grand Prix.

Brandon Mejía Mosqueda def. Bekizizwe Maite KO 5

A pair of left hooks to the liver cemented Mosqueda’s spot in the final. In the last minute of the fifth, Mosqueda (12-0, 10 KOs), sent Maitse (8-2-1, 3 KOs) to the canvas in a heap of pain from a left hook to the liver. Maitse rose to his feet, but when he went to exchange with Mosqueda along the ropes, Mosqueda found the sweet spot again. And this time Maitse didn’t beat the count. The stoppage win was Mosqueda’s second in the Grand Prix.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

Derek Pomerleau def. Carlos Sinisterra MD

Pomerleau (15-0, 11 KOs) edged out Sinisterra (13-2, 10 KOs) by a majority decision to be the first middleweight to earn a spot in the final. Three of the five judges scored it 58-56, while one other judge had it 58-57 and another had it a draw at 57-57.

Dylan Biggs def. Lancelot de la Chappelle UD

Biggs controlled much of the bout en route to a clear unanimous decision victory over de la Chapelle (17-2-2, 5 KOs). Two judges had it 59-55, while two other judges scored it 58-56 and one had it 60-54 for Biggs (17-1, 9 KOs).

HEAVYWEIGHT

Kevin Ramirez def. Dante Stone SD

For the second time in as many fights, Ramirez found himself on the right side of a close decision. This time, it was to earn his spot in the heavyweight final, as he defeated Dante Stone by split decision. One judge had it 58-55, and another scored it 57-56 for Stone. The other three judges had it 57-56, 57-56 and 58-55 for Ramirez (11-0-2, 4 KOs). The loss was the first for Stone (21-2, 13 KOs) since his pro debut.

Ahmed Krnjic def. Keaton Gomes SD

In the closest fight of the night, Ahmed Krnjic’s persistent pressure and ability to land power shots made him the first heavyweight to earn a spot in the finals with a split decision victory. One judge had it 58-56 for Keaton Gomes, while three of the other four judges had it 58-56, 58-56 and 59-55.

Troy Nash treating draw in WBC Grand Prix as if it were a loss

Troy Nash Jnr tasted defeat without a loss officially being on his record.

Nash, 5-0-1 (2 KOs) started his 2025 as an unassuming prospect before defeating two previously unbeaten opponents, Alexander Kovrigin and Zholdas Zhengissov, in the WBC Grand Prix’s featherweight tournament.

Nash then fought Muhamet Qamili. The bout was ruled a draw, but Qamili advanced due to the WBC’s enhanced scoring system in case of a tie.

After the match, some online record keepers listed Nash as having a loss, something that was corrected to a draw, but it still bothered the 20-year-old from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“It is something that I never want to come close to experiencing again,” Nash Jnr said. “The thought of losing put a different type of fire into my training, so once it was listed as a draw officially, I had a new mentality. From now on, I must kill when I hunt. I can’t let fights ever be that close again.”

Nash returns on Friday against an opponent to be determined at the Ace Mission Studios in Los Angeles.

Nash, a 15-time national champion, went unsigned when he turned professional. Trained by his father, Troy Nash Snr, the twosome felt frustrated at the lack of offers despite his amateur success. The Grand Prix allowed Nash Jnr to stand out and display his talents, though it was bittersweet.

“I felt like we were becoming the story of the tournament,” Nash Snr said. “I heard people say U.S. fighters wouldn’t take the chance and fight a bunch of unbeaten prospects, but we did.”

The perception of a loss added to the competitive juices between the father/son duo.

“It bothered us,” Nash Snr said. “We hate losing, and in boxing, a loss can change things. Anyone who knows boxing knows that.

“My son has become meaner after the draw,” Nash Snr added. “He saw a loss on his record, and he keeps saying that he never wants to feel that pain again, even though he never lost.”

Carlos Utria Relishes Pressure Of Representing Colombia In WBC Grand Prix

For many fighters, the opportunity to represent their country serves as their biggest motivation every time they step into the ring.

While winning the WBC Grand Prix would easily mark Carlos Utria's career-best accomplishment, it's about more than potentially winning the inaugural tournament - representing his beloved Colombia to the best of his abilities.

"Forget about the money, because what I'm looking for is way more valuable than any millions that I could ever earn winning the championship,” Utria told The Ring via translator.

"t's about making my country proud. If you look at the videos of how they received me, [it's] almost like a hero when I came back home.

"That's what it's all about and what I want, to leave my mark in history for my country, myself, and really obtain important things because of what they mean, not just because of what they get you."

Utria (13-0, 11 KOs) will face Mujibillo Tursunov (9-0, 2 KOs) in the WBC Grand Prix junior welterweight final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From four finals matchups, the victor in each will receive $200,000 and the Jose Sulaimán trophy, along with a shot at a WBC ranking title.

The 22-year-old entered the tournament 9-0 with nine knockouts and has been nothing short of dominant, going 4-0 with two knockouts. Across his two six-round contests that went the distance, he won all but one round across the judges' scorecards and punched his ticket to the final with a first-round finish of Ntethelelo Nkosi on October 19.

"We prepared for the semi-final for three months — a very thorough training camp where we studied him in depth, and went over his many weaknesses," Utria said. "When I went into the fight, I was confident I could get him, perhaps in the second round. Once we got in there, I caught him cold and that's how the first round knockout came to be."

Uzbekistan's 26-year-old Tursunov, by contrast, has won each of his four fights by decision and edged a majority nod over previously-unbeaten Danylo Lozan to earn his final berth.

"We know he's an aggressive fighter," Utria said of Tursunov. "So we're going to manage our distance and set some traps in order to be able to counter effectively."

Utria stands as the lone fighter remaining from Colombia in the WBC Grand Prix. While that brings added pressure, it’s a feeling that he embraces heading into the biggest fight of his career to date.

"The pressure ratchets up, for sure," Utria said. "It feels so good to know that I carry the hopes of millions of Colombians, the expectations of my family, my friends and all that does is motivate me to turn that pressure into a dream come true and win on December 20."

Brandon Mejia War-Ready, Muhamet Qamili Awaits In WBC 126-Pound Grand Prix Final

A surprise opportunity has gone as well as Brandon Mejia could have hoped for.

Now, Mejia is one win away from winning the WBC Grand Prix at featherweight and will face fellow unbeaten prospect Muhamet Qamili in Saturday's finals from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"The tournament has been outstanding," Mejia told The Ring via translator. "It feels like when you get promoted to the major leagues, That's how amazing this has been. The organization, way the tournament was set up and received is otherworldly, we've enjoyed this process from beginning to end."

Mejia vs Qamili is one of four finals this weekend, the winner of each will receive $200,000, the Jose Sulaimán trophy and a shot at a WBC ranking title in their respective division.

Mejia (12-0, 10 KOs) has been dominant throughout the tournament, going 4-0 with two knockouts. Of those four wins, three have come against fellow undefeated prospects. Mejia earned his place in the final with a fifth-round knockout of Bekizizwe Maitse on Oct. 19.

The 21-year-old is Mexico's last representative remaining in the competition.

"There is pressure," Mejia acknowledged. "There's a lot of responsibility. I don't begrudge or escape that, I embrace it and want to represent Mexico with pride. I want to make Mexican fans proud of how I fight, then give my best. I'm going to fight my heart out to make sure that the Mexican flag waves proudly and high when we're out there on Dec. 20."

Albania's Qamili (17-0-1, 8 KOs) secured a first-round stoppage of Yoni Valverde Jr in the semi-finals to set up the clash with Mejia. The 25-year-old prospect's win over Valverde was his lone tournament victory by stoppage.

"He truly deserves it," Mejia said of Qamili. "He has fought his heart out, and now fans can expect a war between two hungry fighters."
