very good career but the last few years were a bit of a hit for his legacy

the losses to usyk showing he wasnt the number 1 man. he was the favourite for the first fight and most people did hold him as the king, so that loss did bust that image. then the 2nd reaffirmed uzzy's supeirority. it also became clear that wilders not the #2 man of the generation as some fury fans claimed before. maybe not even top 5. the wilder wins got some perspective handed to them and its a big 'so what' that some top rivals didnt fight wilder when they faced even better opponents instead

overall still a very good career though, he reached the highest level and won virtually all the hardwear on his way there. early in his career i woulda never expected it, he improved a load though

Dethroned Wlad is probably the highlight when talking legacies.
at 39 years old, Wlad was ripe for dethroning
Everyone is ripe for dethroning when they get dethroned.

It's not like Wlad was some unbeatable titan though, he'd already been ktfo 3 times previously and then Joshua ko'd him right after Fury fiddled his way to a narrow points win :OhYes:

OK. He was unbeaten in 10 years. Aj went life and death with him 18 months later. David Haye certainly couldn't do much in a much more hyped UK challenge.

The wins over Klitschko were both superb triumphs for Fury and AJ. It's a shame to poke holes in either victory regardless of who is the favoured boxer.

mickey1975, while you're correct in saying AJ was involved in an almighty struggle before getting the better of Vlad....doesn't the same apply to Fury's win over the MMA guy and Joshua's subsequent annihilation of the same opponent ? :maybe:

Only on here. For most people Del won and Dubois stopped him so pretty poor showings by Tyson and AJ.

I have to laugh when some cringy vids pop up in my YT feed where tyson is promising to deliver " pain and damage " on Usyk

barely laid a glove on him in 12 rounds :OhYes:

Really don’t understand people that think Del won.

Most of them probably didn’t even score the fight themselves.

most people

my main takeaway was late on maybe 9th when Usyk put together a lengthy flurry and del boy was hurt on the ropes and I felt Usyk eased off rather than going for the KO .

You are deluded. I think you, your mates and your social media is a pro-Fury, pro-Wilder, pro-Queensbury, anti-Matchroom, anti-Joshua and anti-Usyk echo chamber. Unless this is your tongue in cheek comments again...

Watch that fight again and tell us the rounds that Chisora won after the third round.

It’s true. But you could say, Wilder barely threw a punch against Parker.

Was still a good win.

So Parker's movement was better? :TU:

I'm just saying this comparison thing is pointless 90% of the time. One guy beat this guy subjectively better than this other guy. Usyk comfortably beat Chisora, so did Fury.

mickey1975, your fully entitled to your take on those fights. In my opinion, Usyk beat Chisora out of sight.

Also, Usyk may or may not have milked the low blow incident against Dubois, but again, he ended up thrashing DDD.

Chisora didn’t win a round after the third.

It's irrelevant anyway. At the end of the day, he bested AJ and Fury twice each to prove he's the best of this generation.

Fury absolutely overachieved.

There is not one person on here who would’ve predicted Fury to have achieved what he did in winning multiple world titles and the ring magazine title!

I was a poster on here back in the mid-late 2000s when he lost to Price as an amateur. Fury had a pretty unspectacular amateur career and even when he went pro he hardly set the world on fire most notably in his fight with John McDermott for the English title.

He went to America and got put on his arse by a cruiserweight before getting an opportunity against Wlad where he was a 4-1 underdog with the fight subsequently getting “upset of the year”

After that fight his head fell off and he had the weight and the mental health issues - not to mention the drink and drug problems - before coming back and doing what he did.

There have been so many points in his career where he’s been written off.

Don't forget that Wlad had been described as showing clear signs of decline in his fight prior to Fury against Bryant Jennings.

Remember Boxtune and his Ajagba obsession?

I often wonder whether they're second accounts, trolls, teenagers or just weirdos. They always disappear as soon as their guy loses.
